The party was filled with opulence, with Romanova cutting large white multi-tiered cakes, taller than the birthday girl herself. In another image, she cut another giant cake with blue icing and feathers sprouting on top. Doronin was seen smiling happily in several images from the party, and also shared a moment when he and his partner took over the stage to slow dance.
The couple is known for their lavish parties, having thrown an extraordinary party for the 4th birthday of one of their daughters at their oceanfront estate in Miami, Florida, which cost around $50,000. Doronin made his fortune as a luxury architect in the 1990s and previously dated supermodel Naomi Campbell, but the relationship ended with a series of million-dollar lawsuits after their breakup alleging problems in the division of their possessions.
Doronin is also friends with other celebrities such as Kate Moss, Demi Moore, and Leonardo DiCaprio. He has an art collection that includes works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, and Keith Haring. To preserve his fortune, he has distanced himself from Vladimir Putin’s government, starting with the invasion against Ukraine. He has even publicly stated, “I denounce Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and fervently wish for peace…. I have not conducted business in Russia in many years.”
In fact, he has persistently denied that his wealth came from corrupt and criminal behavior; instead, he claimed it was legitimately earned years before Putin came to power. He has charged that he is the victim of a series of elaborate reports as “misplaced Russophobic attacks” and has not conducted business in Russia in many years.
