With the gentle arrival of spring, the Spring Festival of Hiratsuka Mishima Shrine unfolds as a sacred celebration of Satokagura, a tradition carried through generations.

Before the kami, kagura is offered—an ancient dance that bridges heaven and earth. It is a prayer in motion, devoted to abundant harvests, prosperous fishing, and the peace and harmony of the community.

At the heart of the festival, the Sagami Satokagura—recognized as an Intangible Folk Cultural Asset—comes to life. Its movements and rhythms echo across time, carrying the voices and prayers of those who came before.

Alongside this sacred performance, the grand mikoshi and taiko floats move through the streets, spreading the spirit of the kami across the land.
