Today, I’m introducing a giant cedar tree in Sakegawa Village, Yamagata — Kosugi no Osugi 🌳✨

Because of its unique silhouette, this tree is also known as the “Totoro Tree.” Its rounded, fluffy shape looks just like a giant Totoro standing quietly in the forest. From a distance, it almost feels as if it might start moving at any moment.

Believed to be over 1,000 years old, this sacred tree has long been cherished and protected by the local community 🌲
Rising above peaceful rice fields, it has a mystical presence — a special place where you can simply stand, breathe, and feel its quiet power.
