▶裏磐梯登山口から磐梯山 山頂を目指す

1888年、水蒸気爆発によって北側の山体は崩壊。
爆裂火口の縁に立ち、その凄まじい爪痕を辿ります。

燃えたのではない。
崩壊した火山――それが磐梯山。

火こそ上がらなかったこの噴火は、山体を大きく崩壊させ、
巨大な岩なだれが裏磐梯一帯を埋め尽くしました。

その堆積物は川をせき止め、
桧原湖や五色沼湖沼群という新たな風景を生み出します。
破壊と再生。
火山が作った大地の記憶が、ここに残っています。

猪苗代湖側の表磐梯からではなく、
裏磐梯から登ることで見えてくる、この山の真の姿。

Mount Bandai dramatically collapsed during a steam-driven eruption in 1888.

From the Urabandai trail, this hike explores the explosion crater, towering collapse walls, and the immense debris avalanche that reshaped the landscape.

The eruption did not produce lava flows.
Instead, the mountain itself collapsed, burying the northern flank and damming rivers — forming Lake Hibara and the beautiful lakes of Urabandai.

Experience both the destructive power and the life-giving beauty created by this volcano.
