竹ヶ島は徳島県の南端にある海陽町に浮かぶ島で、100mほどの橋でつながっているため陸路で容易にアクセスすることができます
島内につながる橋を渡った先には、マグロ漁の基地となっている港や、島の周囲に群生しているサンゴや熱帯魚を観察することができる海中観光船ブルーマリンの乗り場があります
島内の高台には白地に赤い線が特徴的な阿波竹ヶ島灯台が立っています
灯台までは遊歩道が整備されていて、灯台近くの休憩所からはエメラルドグリーンの澄んだ海と周囲に点在する島々の景観を楽しむことができます

Takegashima is an island floating in Kaiyo Town at the southern tip of Tokushima Prefecture, and is easily accessible by land as it is connected by a 100m bridge.
Beyond the bridge that connects to the island, there is a port that serves as a base for tuna fishing, and a boarding point for the underwater sightseeing boat Blue Marine, where you can observe the corals and tropical fish that grow around the island.
The Awa Takegashima Lighthouse, which has a distinctive red line on a white background, stands on a hill on the island.
There is a promenade leading up to the lighthouse, and from the rest area near the lighthouse you can enjoy the view of the clear emerald green sea and the surrounding islands.
