【海の京都Vlog】伊根の舟屋で過ごす、心ほどける旅 | 海とともに暮らす、のどかな町並み

The stage for this trip is Kyoto by the Sea. I spent a pleasant time touring this tranquil town nestled close to the sea. I hope you will enjoy the journey with me. The trip begins at Chion-ji Temple. Chion-ji Temple is an ancient temple with a long history, known as the “Temple of Wisdom”. The Sanmon Gate, which stands majestically at the entrance, is also designated as a cultural property. A magnificent lantern is displayed at the Sanmon Gate. Within the temple grounds, there are halls and stone lanterns that have been built over time. They seem to quietly tell the depth of history. The sound of a crackling fire echoes in the silence. A healing space where your heart naturally becomes calm. When you look over, you will see a folding fan hanging from a pine tree. If you look closely, you will see that it is a fortune slip in the shape of a folding fan! When you unfold it, you will find out your fortune, and the tasteful mechanism is comforting. It was a lovely temple with a gentle atmosphere. Cross the Kaisen Bridge and head to Amanohashidate. A rare revolving bridge that connects Amanohashidate and Honshu. Every time a ship passes, the bridge rotates 90 degrees to give way. It’s a rare sight to see a bridge moving. I couldn’t see it this time because the timing wasn’t right, but I’d like to go again someday. Amanohashidate is one of the Three Most Scenic Spots of Japan. It is a single road made of a long, narrow sandbar that is 3.6 km long. About 5,000 pine trees live on the sandy road. Time flows gently. As if guided by the gentle sound of the waves, I headed to the shore. When I see the sea, I can’t help but want to dip even just my feet in. When I think of Kyoto, I have a strong image of temples. I didn’t know that Kyoto had such a beautiful sea. The pleasant sea breeze was blowing, and I felt like I could stay there for hours. I was thoroughly healed by the view of the sea, which I love. Next, I went to an observation spot where you can see Amanohashidate in its entirety. From here, I took a lift and headed for the top of the mountain. I had always wanted to see Amanohashidate from a high place. I’m so happy that my dream will come true today. As the lift rises, Amanohashidate comes into view little by little. Let’s enjoy more at the observation deck. Looking down from the sky, Amanohashidate looks like a road floating on the sea. I can’t help but be mesmerized by the miraculous scenery. The view from Amanohashidate’s specialty “Looking at yourself from between your legs” makes the sea look like the sky, like a bridge in the sky. Looking down, the mystique of Amanohashidate stands out even more. The two of them seem to be having fun cycling in the sky. Watching them made us want to ride too. Let’s head out for our aerial cycling trip. The view from here is also spectacular. It’s so luxurious to be able to ride in this scenery. We were the only ones here, so we were able to enjoy the view of Amanohashidate at our leisure. Before leaving Amanohashidate, we went to another observation spot. The Hiryu-kan Corridor gently undulates like a dragon soaring into the sky. Depending on the angle, it looks like a bridge in the sky. The view of Amanohashidate from here is truly special. It was a breathtaking view worthy of the name “Japan’s Three Most Scenic Views”. We went to this restaurant for lunch. It is a popular restaurant with a line of people waiting for their seafood bento. I had heard that their crab rice bento is delicious, so I was looking forward to it. We had the crab sushi bento and crab rice bento. As soon as we opened the lid, the aroma of the broth tickled our nose. It was shiny and delicious. The crab was plump and flaky, and the rice was also delicious with the broth. The crab sushi bento with vinegared rice brought out the sweetness of the crab thanks to the vinegar. Both were delicious and made us happy. We were surrounded by gentle flavors and our stomachs and hearts were filled. At the end of our trip, we went to the Funaya in Ine, which we had always wanted to visit. Ine is characterized by its row of funaya built right next to the seashore. About 230 boat houses stand quietly along Ine Bay. The boat houses stand as if floating on the sea. It’s a nostalgic and gentle scene. The sea sparkles in emerald green. It ‘s so clear and beautiful. You ‘ll want to sit down on the beach and relax and enjoy the view. The first floor of the boat house is a garage for boats, and they are built to be part of the sea so that you can go out to sea directly. Boats are fishing boats that support life, and they were a means of transportation in the days when there were no land routes. Ine still has this lifestyle that is close to the sea. We head to Yasaka Shrine, located on a hill overlooking the town. The view through the torii gate is somehow tasteful and memorable. The soft sunlight filtering through the trees is a place that gently calms the soul. We decided to take a look inside the boat house, which we had been curious about. We were given a sneak peek at life with the sea. Inside the boat house, where the scent of the sea and the warmth of wood spreads. The boats are protected from the rain, wind, and insects, and are designed to dry out properly. It’s amazing that there are houses that are connected to the sea like this. The blue sea is at your feet, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of the waves. The sea is right next to your daily life, a unique scene in a boathouse. To me, everything is fresh and out of the ordinary, but for the people of Ine, this is an everyday scene. I was able to encounter a wonderful life that seems to be filled with everything I long for. I ended my trip at a cafe standing on the seaside. I had a leisurely cafe time while looking out at Ine Bay. I cooled off with iced cafe latte and lemonade. The unique view of Ine’s boathouses reflected in the window. When I watch the boats drifting leisurely on the sea, even the flow of time seems to be calm. It’s a town full of charm that makes you forget time and become captivated , and you want to keep looking at it forever. I sat on the terrace of the cafe and savored the air of Ine. The sea was so beautiful that I felt more and more reluctant to leave. It was a trip where I was able to fully experience Sea Kyoto with my whole being.
