【ホテル探訪】マウンテンリゾートの最高峰🏔️「パーク ハイアット ニセコ」で過ごす贅沢な大人の休日[北海道]

Hello everyone, this is Okada, an architect on vacation. 🌞 Today, I visited Niseko, Hokkaido. This iconic mountain resort boasts some of the world’s best powder snow in winter and refreshing breezes and greenery in summer, attracting affluent travelers from around the world. Overlooking the majestic Mount Yotei, this resort is rich in nature , showcasing its changing seasonal landscapes. Amid this vast natural landscape, there’s a special hotel that combines luxury and tranquility. I’d like to explore this beautiful space, where architecture and nature resonate with one another. Now, let’s head to the hotel. My stay this time is at the Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono , the Hyatt Group’s flagship luxury hotel, which opened in 2020. The hotel boasts 100 guest rooms in the hotel building and 113 in the residence building, all of which are luxuriously spacious, measuring over 65 square meters. The interior design was created by Melbourne-based BAR Studio, creating a tranquil space that blends sophistication and elegance. Let’s take a look at what kind of spatial experience awaits you. Stepping inside the building, you’re enveloped in a sense of openness created by the high ceilings and a refined, tranquil atmosphere. The contemporary design , designed to blend in with the natural landscape, is impressive. Guided by the soft light streaming in through the large windows at the back, you’ll be greeted by the reception counter. On the wall is art featuring a motif of “the warmth of a fireplace and the sparkle of meltwater.” The hotel is divided into a hotel building and a residence building to accommodate different stay styles . The entire site is quite large, so upon check-in, the staff kindly guided us around the building. Beyond the large windows on the right, the ski slopes unfold, welcoming guests with their seasonal scenery. I’d love to see the snowy winter scenery, too. Next to the reception counter is a service counter. Here, they can provide guidance and coordination for a variety of activities that take advantage of the magnificent natural scenery. Further inside, guests are welcomed by “The Lounge.” “The Lounge offers a beautiful panoramic view of Mt. Yotei and the Niseko mountain range. It is an all- day dining restaurant where you can relax in peace and enjoy refined cuisine. Going further inside, you will find a large fireplace, symbolic of a ski resort. Apparently , you can sit around this fireplace and enjoy entertainment such as live music. The carpet under your feet has patterns that evoke the scenery of the four seasons, which is very beautiful. Now, let’s head to our guest room. This time, we will be staying in a room in the hotel building. As you walk down the corridor, you will find an interesting space in the corner of the elevator hall. Utilizing the small space by the window, it has been designed with a motif of a small Japanese garden. The graphic pattern of the carpet is combined with cushions that resemble patchwork stones, creating a striking modern expression of a Japanese garden. Then, when we went up to our guest floor, we found a real Japanese garden. The contrast with the previous design is humorous and playful. This time, we will be staying in the Mountain View Japanese Garden, which has a living and dining space and is one of the spacious rooms, all of which are over 65m². Twin: Located in the hotel building, this room offers a magnificent view of the mountains. Let’s take a room tour. Once inside, plenty of light pours in from the large window at the back, and the interior space is unified in high-quality, bright tones. On the entrance side, the dining and living spaces are laid out in a spacious layout. The pendant light in the dining room has a warm design reminiscent of the flickering of a candle flame. The table and chairs also maintain a luxurious feel, while also creating an impressive texture that exudes the roughness of a mountain resort. The living room is furnished with a large sofa that can be used as a full-size double bed, and a single-seater leather sofa. There is also an ottoman and a TV in front, so you can stretch your legs and relax. Then, going further in, you will find a spacious The spacious bedroom offers a panoramic view of the magnificent natural scenery from the window, making you want to see the winter scenery as you make your first visit to the slopes. A daybed sits by the window, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. The headboard’s design is simple yet elegant, with a high-quality finish. Next, let’s take a look at the bathroom. Opening the sliding door next to the bedroom reveals a bright and open bathroom space. It features two sinks and a large, ceiling-length mirror. The elegant design combines white marble, pale gray tiles, and greige wood grain. To the side, a view bath with a large window opens up. Soaking in the bath while admiring the magnificent view is a luxurious experience. The bath amenities are all from New York-based perfumer LE LABO, featuring the fresh, sweet scent of bergamot. On the other side of the bathroom, a walk-in closet large enough for extended stays at a ski resort is provided. Behind it is the toilet. Next, let’s return to the dining area and take a look at the minibar. On the countertop, there’s water and a Nespresso coffee machine. Opening the refrigerator, we find a variety of drinks, including champagne, wine, and whiskey. The sake in these bear-shaped bottles is especially adorable and Hokkaido-esque. The minibar offers only complimentary coffee, tea, and mineral water. Further exploring the room, we find a storage space for coats next to the minibar. A small space next to the entrance door also offers storage for boots, convenient for those staying for winter sports. Furthermore, a sliding mirrored door reveals another area with a toilet, sink, and shower. It’s a luxurious facility that we couldn’t possibly use in just one night. So, we’ll wrap up the room tour here . After relaxing in our room, we’ll explore the hotel’s unique attractions. From the first floor of the hotel building, you can access the mountain side, which leads directly to the slopes. Let’s take a walk. From the outside, you can really get a sense of the hotel’s sheer scale. Next, let’s take a look inside the hotel. Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono offers numerous dining options, allowing guests to enjoy a gourmet experience entirely within the hotel. The hotel boasts over 10 restaurants and bars, including Moliere Montagne, a restaurant by Moliere, a three-star Michelin restaurant in Sapporo ; Sushi Mitsukawa, whose flagship restaurant in Kanazawa has been awarded a single Michelin star; The Lounge; Teppan; Olivio; and China Kitchen . All of these restaurants captivate guests with a variety of dishes made with seasonal ingredients from Hokkaido’s land and sea . Next, let’s take a look at the fitness center and pool. Both the hotel and residence buildings offer fitness centers. Their impressive facilities are truly impressive. Lined with equipment from Life Fitness, a world-renowned exercise machine brand, guests can enjoy a full-scale workout even during their stay. Working out while looking out at the slopes through the large windows is a truly special experience you can only find at a resort. Next to it is a luxurious 25-meter indoor pool. Large floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light, creating a spacious and open space. Sofa beds line the walls, allowing you to sink into them and relax, and a jacuzzi area with warmer water temperatures is also located near the windows. This luxurious yet comfortable resort pool is perfect for both adults and children. The changing rooms are decorated in muted tones, revealing a sophisticated interior. At the back, a shower area with beautifully lit shadows creates the illusion of a stone cave . The tranquil atmosphere is truly wonderful. Another attraction of this hotel is its large hot spring bath, which is especially appealing in Hokkaido’s cold climate. Warming you to the core, you’ll experience the ultimate relaxation. The attached spa offers top-notch treatments, creating a truly luxurious space for relaxation. Now, after fully relaxing in the pool and hot spring, we headed for dinner. For dinner, we went to Olivio, an Italian restaurant serving authentic pizza . The lively atmosphere makes it a relaxing place for family and friends. We enjoyed a glass of white wine with dinner. The bright, cheerful atmosphere, typical of Italian cuisine, allowed us to enjoy delicious food and wine at our leisure , resulting in a truly satisfying dinner. After dinner, we visited the game corner, a former ski cloakroom renovated for the summer season. We played table football with the kids, and now it’s time for some adult time. We’re enjoying a quiet drink at The Bar & Cigar Lounge. The interior has a dignified feel, and the atmosphere becomes even more luxurious at night. Tonight, instead of my usual mojito, I’ll have a rum-based daiquiri on the rocks. For breakfast, we’ll head to The Lounge, which offers a panoramic view of Mount Yotei and the Niseko mountain range. It’s buffet-style, and you only have to order the main dish. We start with the bakery corner , where a wide variety of delicious breads, including croissants, pancakes, and French toast, are lined up. This corner also offers a wide selection of Japanese dishes, including seafood. The carefully selected ingredients are evident, making it difficult to choose. There’s also a wide selection of other dishes , including smoked salmon, ham, cheese, and vegetables, and five different Pierre Hermé Paris dressings. In addition, the dessert corner offered cut fruit and yogurt, making for a satisfying breakfast that will have you feeling pampered from the morning. It was a luxurious morning, leisurely savoring delicious, carefully selected dishes in a high-quality space. So, what did you think of Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono? Surrounded by magnificent nature, tranquility and sophistication coexist, truly capturing the essence of a luxury mountain resort. From the exquisite design of the guest rooms to the comprehensive facilities, such as the large public bath and spa, everything created a luxurious experience that truly soothed the soul. While this visit was in the summer, I’m eager to return to Niseko in the snowy winter. Experience this truly enriching time in this place, which changes with the seasons .
