箱島湧水 大杉の根元から湧き出す大量の湧水。
群馬県東吾妻町にある箱島湧水を訪ねました。榛名山(1449m)の北麓にあります。箱島不動尊のご神木である樹齢400年の大杉の根元からコンコンと湧き出ています。毎日大勢の方が取水しに来ます（無料）。1秒間に0.34トンという水量で、小規模の水力発電が行われています。また近くの養魚場もパイプで取水しています。この湧水にまつわる哀しい伝説も残されています。どうぞお楽しみください。
I visited Hakojima Spring in Higashiagatsuma Town, Gunma Prefecture. It is located at the northern foot of Mount Haruna (1,449m). The spring gushes forth from the base of a 400-year-old cedar tree, the sacred tree of Hakojima Fudoson temple. Many people come to get water every day (free of charge). With a flow rate of 0.34 tons per second, it generates small-scale hydroelectric power. A nearby fish farm also draws water through pipes. There is also a sad legend surrounding this spring.
