Dosojin, also known as ‘Dorokujin’, ‘Sainokami’, and ‘Saenokami’, is said to be a deity that prevents disasters from entering. The Dosojin Festival is an event that has been held since ancient times in Nozawa Onsen as an event to burn New Year’s decorations and tightening decorations on the Lunar New Year. It is known nationwide as “Dondo-yaki”.
