密着21時間【新日本海フェリー】改造バンを連れて北海道へ女ひとり旅〈新潟→小樽〉

Starting today, my Hokkaido trip begins in the Shiratama Crossby, a small SUV that ‘s been remodeled and converted into a van. Yay! We’re finally here, and starting this time! Ta-da! I drove about four hours from Nagano Prefecture to the New Japan Sea Ferry Terminal in Niigata. From there, it’s about a 16.5-hour journey to Otaru, Hokkaido. About a month ago, I got the Shiratama Crossby, a standard passenger SUV, but the rear seats were remodeled to change it from a 5-number license plate to a 4-number license plate! This is probably the only Crossby van in Japan, and I’m going on a car camping trip! It’s about 30 degrees outside right now, and the air conditioning is off while I’m talking, so it’s pretty hot! This time, I booked online, but last time I had to go to the reception desk to get my ticket, show it, and line up, but this time I used a web ticket! It’s super convenient, I don’t have to go to reception, and even if I arrive just a little over an hour before, they can line me up properly. Right now, motorbikes are coming in one after the other, so I’m thinking I’ll go and check it out! I’m really looking forward to it. Do you want to take a look behind Shiratama? It looks really nice. It’s a bit messy right now, but there’s a futon laid out on the right side (it’s a bit messy), a container with tent boxes and tools, a wooden box with cooking utensils, a portable power source, a backpack, and more. But it was forecast to rain all day. I was supposed to come to Niigata in the rain yesterday, but it just cleared up. There are 4th, 5th, and 6th floors. I went up and entered here on the 4th floor, and my room is A42 around here . There are many small private rooms here, and the 5th floor has fairly large private rooms and small dormitories, and the 6th floor is a suite room and a large public bath. There is also a restaurant where you can eat there. I want to eat dinner there, so I saved a little and had convenience store food for lunch. Well, it’s not super expensive, but since I’m on the ferry, the beef stew set was 1,800 yen, so I’m aiming for that. Dessert: I think I’ll eat this after I get out of the bath. It’s delicious, and it’s very guilty. I put some margarine on it and then dip it in the beef stew and eat it. It’s so delicious! It really tastes like a real Kuroge Wagyu beef stew. When I came here last year in July it was really crowded and there were people waiting around so I felt the pressure of waiting for a seat to become available quickly, but today it’s not like that. In fact it’s completely empty and there are plenty of seats available. It’s 7:20 now so I wonder if this place will be open until around 8:30. I’ll continue making plans for tomorrow. The Wi-Fi is working so I’m using my PC right now and I’m able to do a lot of research for tomorrow. I can use 30 minutes five times so that’s two and a half hours! It’s a pretty good deal.
