Ogano Town, Saitama Prefecture I visited a marginal village just before the pass The village is made up of old houses that stand along the clear stream It gives you the feeling of a nostalgic rural landscape There are also lonely ruins of old houses scattered here and there It feels like there are more vacant houses with no one in them I was able to listen to the story of an 80-year-old local grandfather He retired from his job about 10 years ago and returned He said that the amount of water in the clear stream has decreased compared to how it used to be There used to be many big fish swimming around here Now the surrounding mountains are covered in cedar trees Perhaps this has reduced the mountains’ water retention capacity Perhaps this has led to the decrease in the amount of water in the clear stream His sad look as he spoke made an impression on me Thank you for watching

埼玉県小鹿野町(おがのまち)。
峠手前の限界集落を訪れました。
清流に沿うように存在する古民家集落。
懐かしい田舎風景を感じさせてくれます。
また、寂しい古民家廃墟が点々とあります。
人がいない空き家のほうが多い気がします。
地元の80歳のおじいさんの話を聞くことができました。
10年ほど前に仕事を退職し、戻ってきました。
昔より清流の水量が減ったそうです。
以前は大きな魚がたくさん泳いでいました。
現在はまわりの山が杉だらけになってしまいました。
そのせいで山の保水力が低下したのではないか。
それが清流の水量の減少につながったのではないか。
寂しそうに語っていた姿が印象的でした。
