【青森】大間のマグロと津軽三味線を堪能‼︎界 津軽をご紹介
Hello. I’m Taka from Zipang55. This time I’m staying at Kai Tsugaru in Owani Onsen, Aomori Prefecture. I’d like to deliver a live Tsugaru shamisen performance and a dinner using Oma tuna. This channel mainly introduces hotels and tourist spots in various regions. It will encourage me to make videos, so I would be happy if you could subscribe to the channel and rate it highly. Now, let’s introduce it. Kai Tsugaru is about a 40-minute drive from Aomori Airport. It is located in Owani Onsen, which has a history of over 800 years. There is also a shuttle bus from the nearest station. Reservations are required, so if you are visiting by train, please check the official website. When I entered the building, a corridor separated by shoji screens continued to the lobby. It was exciting to enter a different world. The lobby was quite spacious. There are many sofa seats. In the evening, there is a live Tsugaru shamisen performance here. You can watch it without making a reservation. There is also a terrace seat outside, where you can see the pond and wind chimes. You can enjoy listening to the beautiful music while feeling the night breeze. The shop sells Aomori specialty souvenirs and drinks. You can drink coffee freely next to the lobby. It’s nice that they have decaf coffee. Now, let’s head to the room. When I entered the room, there were pictures of Kogin embroidery, which is famous in Tsugaru, and pictures that imitate its patterns on the wall. The room is spacious. There was a power outlet next to the pillow, which was convenient. There was a sofa in the room, and the objects were decorated with Kogin patterns. There was a phone, a book, and a Tisci air purifier. The TV was also large. This time we stayed with three people, so there was a futon in another room. There is a private room, so it is quite spacious. There was a Kogin pattern on the ceiling. The sink is also spacious. There is a set of lotion and milky lotion. The bathroom is also spacious. There is a large public bath, so it doesn’t seem to be used much. The toilet looks new and clean. The amenities were in a furoshiki. There is a hair dryer in the room. The closet was spacious. The lights were off, so it was a little dark. Pajamas were provided. There was a tea set. There was ginger tea and apple tea, typical of Aomori. There was also a bath. There were drinks in the fridge, but they were charged. Beer was 440 yen. The shoji screens were also decorated with Kogin patterns. Outside, it was like a garden, so you could see the view. There were Tsugaru sweets, apple butter rusks, on the table. The staff guided me to my room with my luggage. This time I stayed in this room for one night. It was 27,000 yen for one adult, including breakfast and dinner. I used the early bird discount, so it was a little cheaper, but it’s a bit expensive considering the price. The room was relatively spacious and decorated with Kogin embroidery patterns, which was quite tasteful. At “Gotochiraku,” where you can experience local things, you can enjoy live Tsugaru shamisen music and Kogin embroidery experience. Now, I would like to show you around the building. Each floor had a rest area where you could see the outside. There were pajamas in multiple sizes. As I mentioned earlier, you can listen to live Tsugaru shamisen music in the lobby. You can read books and try Kogin embroidery at the travel library. Souvenirs were also sold here. There weren’t many books, but there were books about Tsugaru and travel. You can try Kogin embroidery by picking up a thread and needle. Kogin embroidery is an embroidery that has been passed down in the Tsugaru region. You could choose from various colors. There were three types of Kogin embroidery patterns to choose from. The thread colors are like this. Thread the sticky notes with holes in the pattern according to the steps. It’s easy to do, so children can enjoy it too. It’s also fun to try different patterns and thread colors. There were beautiful pictures on the street near the large bath. They look like the pictures painted on festival floats. The large bath had an indoor bath and an open-air bath. Owani Onsen is a famous hot spring that ranks alongside Atami Onsen, which was loved by the Tokugawa family, in the hot spring rankings of the Edo period. The spring quality is weakly alkaline. It is said that it gently removes dirt from the skin and has a revitalizing and moisturizing effect on the skin. This time, apple-shaped cypress trees were floating in the indoor bath. Depending on the season, real apples may also be floating. From the open-air bath, you can see lanterns depicting the Kuroishi Neputa, which are only available in summer, and take a relaxing bath. The bath wasn’t that large. It’s interesting that the contents of the bath change depending on the season. After the bath, there was apple vinegar and burdock tea. Burdock tea is rare. It had a unique taste, but it’s said to be good for sleep, so I recommend it. From 4:30 p.m., the Iroha Onsen event will be held. We were introduced to how to bathe in the hot spring and the history of Owani Onsen. It seems that Owani Onsen was opened around the time the Kamakura period began. In 1593, when Tsugaru Nobuyuki, the first feudal lord of the Tsugaru domain, fell ill, he received a prophecy from the Medicine Buddha in a dream that he would be cured if he washed in the hot springs that welled up in Owani. He discovered hot water gushing out from under a stone. This story is said to be familiar to locals as the legend of the Yuda Stone. We also received a hot spring ranking from the Edo period. It’s interesting that such things were available at that time. Now, let’s go to eat the long-awaited dinner. The dinner venue is on the second floor of the lobby. This time, for dinner, we paid an additional 5,100 yen from the regular plan and changed to “Oma tuna all-you-can-eat”. The venue had a semi-private room and a seat with a view of the outside. I was guided to a semi-private room. The dinner lineup looks like this. There was a lot of tuna dishes prepared. There were also drinks such as apple juice tasting and sake tasting. There were also beer , sake, whiskey, white wine, red wine, sparkling wine, and soft drinks. When I ordered sake, it was served in a beautiful glass vessel. The appetizer was tuna and sea urchin tossed in arare rice crackers. The tuna and sea urchin went really well together. As I’ve mentioned before, Kai offers local products from various regions as appetizers. And here we have nigiri sushi, medium fatty tuna and lean tuna sashimi made with Oma tuna. It has a beautiful red color. The soy sauce is applied to the tuna with a brush. It’s quite rare to see it applied with a brush. The flavor was melting in the mouth and very delicious. It went well with the wasabi and was very fatty. It’s no wonder it’s so famous. Next was deep-fried tuna and vegetable tempura. It was crispy and delicious. However, I personally prefer raw tuna. Next was tuna negima hotpot. Tuna shavings and tuna broth are boiled together and enjoyed. It was my first time eating hotpot, but it was quite good. Like shabu-shabu, the tuna is boiled until it changes color a little. It went well with the other vegetables and broth and was very delicious. I often eat tuna raw, but it’s also delicious in a hot pot like this. After the tuna hot pot, rice was prepared. I ate it with the pickled tuna. There were a lot of toppings, so I had a hard time deciding what to eat with it. The pickles were also delicious, and I could eat rice with just that. The saltiness of the tuna went well with the rice. They also saved the soup from the previous hot pot and showed me how to pour it over the rice and eat it like ochazuke. It’s a luxurious way to eat it. I think it was the best way to finish off the meal. The last dish was apple snow cheese, typical of Aomori. It looked like ice cream, but it was a mousse-like cheesecake. It went well with the apples and was delicious. It was a course that used tuna in abundance, with sashimi, fried food, hot pot, and rice bowls. It’s a bit expensive at 5100 yen, but if you’re interested, please order it. It was raining heavily today, but the terrace was lit up with lights, creating a fantastic sight. Now, let’s go listen to a live Tsugaru shamisen performance. There was no one there about 30 minutes before the start, so if you want to see it from the front seats, it might be a good idea to come around that time. Everyone gathered about 10 minutes before. Now, we will give you a digest of the performance. It was a powerful performance. After the performance, we also had the experience of playing “Sakura”. Now, I would like to go back to my room and rest today. Good morning. It was a sunny and pleasant morning. Now, let’s go to breakfast. Breakfast was served at the same venue as the dinner venue. The amount seems to be enough. There was also a dish made with scallop shells, a specialty of Aomori. It seems that you put an egg in it at the end and eat it. Breakfast was served all at once on a tray. There were many side dishes that went well with grilled fish, tamagoyaki, and rice. The scallops were also delicious with a lot of flavor. It was even more delicious when put on rice at the end. The breakfast had a small number of items, but the rice was enough to fill me up. Everything was delicious. I ate a lot yesterday, so the amount was just right. Now, I’m going to eat the rest. So, what did you think of this time’s “Kai Tsugaru”? It was an inn where you could fully enjoy Tsugaru. If you have the opportunity, please try staying there too. I hope this video will be of some use to your travels. Please subscribe to my channel, give me a high rating, and give me a super thanks, as it will encourage me to make more videos. Thank you for watching until the end. See you in the next video – goodbye –
