I wanted to try the “Hijiori Tofu” for 250 yen, which was brought to me in no time . First, I poured some cold barley tea over it. “Mori Soba” was 650 yen, which was firm tofu with a soybean aroma. The soba noodles were a little dark in color and there was a lot of it . Soba soup was also served. It was firm and easy to swallow. They say they eat it with chili peppers instead of wasabi here. I drank the soba soup, which goes well with the sweet soup and the flavor of chili peppers. Thank you for the meal. “Hoteiya” in Okura Village, Mogami District, Yamagata Prefecture. I bought Hotei Manju, which is a specialty of Hijiori, and returned to my lodgings. ” Kaneikan” in Okura Village, Mogami District, Yamagata Prefecture. I immediately started eating “Hotei Manju” 110 yen, delicious! The dough is soft and fluffy, with a nice aroma of brown sugar. In the evening , I’m staying overnight and go to buy food for dinner. It ‘s still light out. I ordered in advance from Chonan Butcher Shop in Okura Village, Mogami County, Yamagata Prefecture, and bought a portion of horse sashimi . I ate too much yesterday, so this will be my only dinner for today. Horse sashimi. 1000 yen . The generous amount of chopped garlic really whets the appetite . I don’t usually drink, but I got some good horse sashimi, so I’ll have just one glass ice cold…! Delicious!! Delicious!! It was so delicious… It looked like the owner of the inn was going to show us fireflies tonight ! I wonder if it’s hard to tell from the camera. When I was a child, I could see fireflies in Toyama too. “Hijiori Senbei” is a common gaufrette, but it’s delicious. Hot tea is also good when it’s hot . Before going to bed, take a bath again. A relaxing soak in the hot spring on a hot night is the most luxurious time. The next morning , I said goodbye to this inn. Thank you to the owner and the landlady for your hospitality . “Hijiori Onsen” is a hot spring town with a hot spring resort atmosphere. It was a memorable stay. After this, I headed towards Shinjo. My accommodation for the night was Tsuruoka, but before that, I wanted to eat Shinjo’s specialty. I drove for about 50 minutes and found this restaurant in the city center. “Issaan Branch” in Shinjo City, Yamagata Prefecture. The style is to order first. This is said to be the birthplace of Shinjo’s specialty, motsu ramen. Founded in 1950, “motsu ramen” 700 yen. It contains various parts of the chicken such as liver, skin, and kumquats.
