【岐阜旅行】下呂温泉で食べ歩き&観光スポット満喫🍡♨️

Hello, I’m Chihiro. This time, I will introduce Gero Onsen in Gifu. Gero Onsen is located in central Gifu Prefecture. It is an hour and a half by train from Nagoya. To Gero Onsen, take JR Hida. Gero Onsen is 1 hour and 10 minutes from Gifu. We will continue to pass through the mountains. The blue-green river is beautiful♪ Sometimes there are villages. Arrived at Gero Onsen. The autumn leaves are beautiful on the station platform. Gero Onsen is considered one of Japan’s top three hot springs, along with Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma and Arima Onsen in Hyogo. It is a historic hot spring that is said to have opened between 947 and 957. First, let’s go to the hot spring town of Gero Onsen. In front of the Gero City Tourism Exchange Center, there is a Pokemon manhole called “Poke Lid”. Otamaro, Gamagaru, and Gamageroge are bathing in a hot spring. Yes, cheese! Banri Shuku was a monk from the Muromachi period who spread the name of Gero Onsen throughout the country. You can write your memories of Gero on the blackboard. There is a life-size bronze statue of Charlie Chaplin at Shirasagi Bridge. The hot spring town of Gero Onsen stretches along the Hida River. The trees along the river are turning red, and the mountain peaks are covered in snow. First, go to Gero Onsen Footbath Village Yuamiya. The buckets with various patterns are cute ♡ The pudding is warmed up in the hot springs. Next, go to Sarubobo Shichifuku Shrine. Sarubobo, a traditional doll from the Hida region, is enshrined as one of the Seven Lucky Gods. “Sarubobo” means “baby monkey” in the Hida dialect, and is characterized by its unique faceless appearance, with a red face and limbs. Sarubobo’s origins date back to the Nara period, and its original form is said to be a doll brought over from China. These were used by aristocrats as talismans to pray for safe childbirth and good health for their children. In the Edo period, it became popular among the common people, and it is said that the custom of mothers and grandmothers making it by hand for their daughters and grandchildren took root. Sarubobo is also drawn on the ema. It is one of the birthplaces of Japan’s top three hot springs, where hot springs once gushed out. This is a signboard for places related to hot springs. Next, go to Gero pudding. There is a line forming at a popular pudding shop. A cute frog welcomes you. There are many types of pudding. The interior of the store is lined with retro interiors. The eat-in space is like a public bath. Cute ducks are lined up. What I ate was Gero Pudding Soft (700 yen). There is soft serve ice cream on top of the pudding. I bought three of them: retro pudding, strawberry pudding, and coffee jelly pudding. Next, go to Kaeru Shrine. Gero Onsen’s “gero” is the cry of frogs, so there are frogs everywhere. Kaeru Shrine is a place to pray for good fortune related to the frog. If you make an offering, you can hear the message of Kaerudaimyojin. “You will be able to revive your daily energy.” The ema is also a frog. Next, go to Yushimaan. Here you can eat Hida beef sushi. Ordered the three-piece assortment (1000 yen). Three types of nigiri: marbled and lean Hida beef, and pork belly from Hida natto pork. All the meat is tender and delicious! Next, go to the forest road. There is a Totoro and a bus stop inside. A frog in the pond. Next, go to GEROGERO BUTTER STAND. There is a buttermilk footbath at the store. There is a frog on the truck inside the store. Various types of butter sandwiches. There is an eat-in space in the back. I ate grilled rice balls with spicy mentaiko butter (620 yen). There’s plenty of butter and mentaiko on top. Now, let’s walk along the river. The autumn leaves are beautiful. I arrived at Ujo Park. From here, you can see Godan Falls. The stone walls have an atmosphere. Water flows from upstream. Climb up the mountain a little amidst the autumn leaves. Next, go to Gero Onsen Gassho Village. Gero Onsen Gassho Village is a gassho-style private house relocated from Shirakawa-go and other places, and is a museum where you can learn about life in the past, recreating a village. First, let’s go to the former Iwasaki family. This place is now a folklore museum. In the Hida region, hina dolls were clay dolls until around 1965. You can also go up to the second floor. It is decorated with agricultural tools from that time. I found a treadle sewing machine! The view from the second floor is beautiful. Couple cedars are standing. There’s a frog here too. There are gorgeous Hina dolls at the Takehara Bunraku Memorial Museum. Next, we went to the former Toyama family residence Itakura. This is a wooden warehouse built in 1810. Agricultural tools are lined up inside. Next, we went to the former Ootoya residence. The former Ooto family residence was constructed over a period of 13 years, from 1833 to 1846. The bright red autumn leaves in front of the house are beautiful♪ The first floor is a living space with a hearth. The situation at that time has been recreated. The second floor was used as a sericulture workshop. A device that spins cocoons. The view is beautiful. On the opposite side of Gassho no Sato is the Saijiki Forest. There is a photo spot in the center of the village. Hida Takaya Shrine is dedicated to the god of cooking. Go through the tunnel and go to the Saijiki Forest. It’s a watermill. In the back, there is a frog shrine. The guardian dog has become a frog. There is a long slide here. It’s on a hill, so the view is beautiful. At Sabo Bankoan, you can enjoy matcha tea and Japanese sweets. Go back through the tunnel and go to the pond. The autumn leaves are beautiful here as well. Carp is swimming. It has a strong tone. Walk along the path of autumn leaves and return to the center of Gero. There also seems to be a bus that leaves from Gero Station. Everywhere is beautiful and I recommend visiting Gero in autumn. While walking, I found a frog on the ground! There is also a frog in the manhole 🐸 Frog Waterfall. Next, go to Onsenji Temple. According to legend, when Gero Onsen stopped flowing, a white heron swooped down to the Hida River and pointed out the location of the new source. Onsenji Temple was built because a statue of Yakushi Nyorai appeared where the white heron stopped . I’ll go up the stairs. The view from here is spectacular. Go down the maple path. Tenki Inari Daimyo Shrine is located here. It was built in 1858 as the guardian of Onsenji Temple. To walk to Onsenji Temple, you have to climb 173 stone steps. It’s in a high place so the view is good. Gero Onsen is a small hot spring town, so one day was enough for sightseeing. I will stay at a ryokan for one night and return from Gero Station. I bought the JR Hida ticket the day before. Head to Nagoya on JR Hida. At Nagoya Station, go to Hinokama Kishimen inside the station. You can eat Nagoya’s specialty kishimen. The dish I ate was meat kishimen with hot egg topping (1,250 yen). When it comes to noodles, I like thick kishimen the most, so I’m happy! If you add hot eggs, you can enjoy a variety of flavors. I bought a gingerbread latte at Starbucks and left Nagoya on the Shinkansen! This concludes today’s video. Thank you for watching until the end.
