【大阪・関西万博】行く前に知っておくと得する14選, 持っていくべきもの, 予約方法など / OSAKA EXPO2025

I went to the Osaka Expo in early May My fourth World Expo! From the perspective of a World Expo enthusiast I will share tips and tricks for the Osaka Expo!! On May 3, 2025, right in the middle of Golden Week I took a midnight bus that departed at midnight and arrived at Namba in Osaka from Tokyo Station Transfer to the train to Yumeshima Station The newly built Yumeshima Station subway for the Osaka Expo has a lot of automatic ticket gates! It’s quite a large station! When you exit Yumeshima Station, the East Gate of the Expo is right in front of you, while the bus arrives in front of the West Gate Subway → East Gate Bus → Enter through the West Gate Tickets for the Osaka Expo require a specific date and time! Times are 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 Night tickets allow entry from 16:00 I wanted to reserve a 9 AM ticket since the park opens at 9 I made a reservation for 10 AM because it was fully booked The 9 AM slots fill up quickly Be sure to specify the date and time for your ticket in advance! Head towards the East Gate after leaving Yumeshima Station The time for this is exactly 10 o’clock; the entrances for 9 o’clock and 10 o’clock are different If you have a 9 o’clock ticket, you can enter without any issues even if you’re late! (So make a reservation for an early time!) I have a 10 o’clock ticket! I proceeded to the gate as instructed! There were quite a few people, but since there are many entrances, I was able to enter in about 20 minutes Due to counter-terrorism measures, X-ray inspections and metal detectors were used Security checks at the venue are as strict as those at airport baggage inspections, but bringing food and drinks inside is allowed Liquids must be taken out of your bag for a thorough check to confirm whether they are liquid explosives! After the security check, show your electronic ticket to enter the venue It’s crowded, making it difficult to connect to the internet There may be cases where the electronic ticket on your smartphone does not display Bring a printed electronic ticket! Enter using the QR code on the printed paper The Osaka Expo is the first attempt at an international exposition Introducing a fully cashless system! This means cash cannot be used! We support credit cards, electronic money, and code payments No smartphone or credit card Those who prefer cash need to purchase a prepaid card, so please be aware! It was a completely clear day with no clouds! The temperature was 20 degrees, making it a pleasant day On hot summer days or rainy days, waiting in line and walking around the park can be tough! The venue for the Osaka Expo is near the sea, so the wind can be strong Be sure to bring a hat, sunshade, and raincoat according to the weather The entire venue for the Osaka Expo covers 155 hectares Three times the size of Tokyo Disneyland The size of 33 Tokyo Domes! Incredibly vast!! A map of the entire venue is essential I checked the map on the Expo app It’s too wide, and even when scrolling, I can’t really understand it Even if I go to the information desk in the venue, there are no paper maps available at all I recommend bringing a paper map! I brought a printed map in A3 size I checked the location of each pavilion while looking at the map The large paper map (A3 size) was easy to understand, so I recommend it Many people are at the expo venue from morning until late at night There are no charging stations available To avoid running out of battery on your smartphone, bring a mobile battery There are several convenience stores and restaurants inside the expo site, but they are extremely crowded and very expensive! Hot dogs: about 2000 yen! Wow, that’s really expensive… How much is the beer? Kirin Ichiban Shibori: 900 yen Since I came all the way to the expo, I should eat at least one meal there I brought my own bento, rice balls, and bread from the supermarket and ate them during breaks! I also brought a bottle of water! When it’s empty, I refill it at the water station! The easy-to-understand water stations have lines to wait in I recommend the water station next to the restroom on the big roof ring A water supply station in a hard-to-find location! No one is around! I was able to get water right away! The toilet above the large roof ring is available, so I recommend it! The Osaka Expo is as large as 33 Tokyo Domes! It’s just so vast! Sometimes you can’t find where to go even when looking at the map Shows like dance and singing are frequently held outside each pavilion! The information is available on the Expo app, but it’s very hard to find Let’s ask the specialized staff for guidance inside the venue! Enter through the East Gate, and you’ll find staff holding signs around the large roof ring! They can tell you about the day’s events and recommend show locations and times It was quite helpful! I’m not always in the same place If you find it, give it a try! Show schedule The large roof ring has been recognized by Guinness as the world’s largest wooden structure! An impressive construction! As expected from Japan, a wooden architecture powerhouse! Walking under the large roof, you can see the combination of each individual tree I was overwhelmed by the height and size The view is amazing when you go up the escalator! I hope they keep the large roof ring after the expo The daytime scenery is amazing, but the large roof ring is illuminated at night It adds even more charm! The trees on the large roof seem to float in the darkness, illuminated by light, creating a majestic atmosphere that is overwhelming The night view from the top of the large roof, with the lights of each pavilion, is the best Points to note here (As of May) You will not be able to go up to the large roof after 9 PM, one hour before the closing time of 10 PM All escalators are going down There are staff in front of the stairs and elevator who won’t let us go up Measures to ensure all visitors leave before the closing time at 10 PM Let’s go up to the large roof ring before 9 PM and enjoy the night view! There have been many reports on TV and online about long wait times for entry to the Osaka Expo In reality, it’s harder when you go home As of May, the opening hours of the Osaka Expo are from 9 AM to 10 PM Each pavilion closes at 9 PM A must-see water show, ‘Ao and the Night Rainbow Parade’.
When it reaches 21:00, staff and security will urge you to exit quickly After 21:00, a large crowd of returning guests rushed to the East Gate! I stood for 15 minutes waiting at the East Gate, unable to board the subway from Yumeshima Station Completely closed off at the gate Finally exited through the East Gate I took a long detour and walked about 500 meters extra to kill time before getting on the subway After 40 minutes, I was finally able to get on the subway After a tiring day, I was made to wait for 40 minutes and ended up exhausted My family left through the East Gate just before 10 PM I was able to get on the subway with almost no wait The exit is extremely crowded from 21:00 to 21:30! Wait inside until just before 22:00 before leaving You can get on the subway without waiting too long If you leave before 21:00, it might not be crowded (maybe) at the Italian Pavilion, which is hard to reserve Reservations can be made through the official app “Italy Expo 2025” dedicated to the Italy Pavilion This trick has become widely known There are many days fully booked with no reservations available for quite some time ahead The American Pavilion is very popular with a 3-hour wait Join the English tour every hour There is a higher chance of entering with a shorter wait time than the Japanese tour However, can you understand English for emergency evacuation responses? Those who cannot understand English when asked in English cannot participate How to make reservations for pavilions and events At the Osaka Expo, if you make a reservation and go at the specified time, you can enter pavilions and events without waiting in line The Italy Pavilion and Gundam Pavilion are by reservation only You cannot wait in line on the day itself Let’s make use of the reservation system There are four types of reservations! Reservations can be made through the Expo app Lottery two months in advance, register from first to fifth choice seven days before Will one of them be selected? Will it all be off? The results will be sent to the registered email I had already less than two months left when I purchased the ticket Unfortunately, I couldn’t apply for the lottery two months ago I won the lottery for the ‘Mitsubishi Future Museum’ seven days ago “First-come, first-served reservations for available slots three days ago” are recommended This is not a lottery; it’s first come, first served Reservations start at midnight, three days before the event! My ticket is for May 3rd Three days before is April 30th! I logged into the expo site around 11:30 PM on April 29th and waited The moment it became midnight on 4/30 Reservations for available slots started three days ago on a first-come, first-served basis Slots are filling up quickly, so let’s find and book available time slots swiftly Almost everything will be gone by 12:30 AM Please be careful! I was able to reserve the Netherlands Pavilion Same-day registration starts 10 minutes after the expo opens Select the time for the pavilion in the app and reserve; ‘✖’ and ‘△’ indicate limited availability If there are no openings, it will display that there are no vacancies even if you proceed Look for ‘〇’ and make a reservation! Only one registration is allowed on the day Multiple reservations cannot be made on the same day Once one reservation is completed, the next one can be made Please make your reservation as early as possible! After finishing, make the next reservation! Be careful, as making a reservation late at night may prevent you from securing the next one This video is a summary of my actual experience at the Osaka Expo on May 3rd Please understand that rules may change in the future or differ from what I experienced The 2030 Expo is scheduled to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia! 5月初め、大阪万博に行ってきました。
私はつくば、愛知、ミラノに続き4回目の万博！
万博マニアの私から見た、大阪万博における注意点や裏技などをお伝えします！

GW真っ只中の2025年5月3日、前日の深夜バスで東京駅から大阪なんばに到着、電車を乗り継いで夢洲駅へ。大阪万博のために新しく作られた地下鉄夢洲駅は自動改札の数が多く、かなり大きな駅です。
夢洲駅を出ると目の前に大阪万博の入口、東ゲートが見えます。
ちなみにバスは西ゲート前に到着するので、地下鉄なら東ゲート、バスなら西ゲートから入場します。

1. チケットは日時指定
大阪万博のチケットは、日にちと時間を指定しなければなりません。時間は9:00-、10:00-、11:00-、12:00-と、夜間券は16時から入場です。
９時開園なので朝一の９時チケットがよかったのですが、満員だったので10時に予約しました。9時枠はすぐに埋まるので、なるべく早めにチケットの日時指定をしましょう！

2. 入場は意外とスムーズ
かなりの人がいましたが、入口の数が多いので意外と待たずに20分ほどで入場することができました。

3. 厳重なセキュリティチェック
テロ対策のため、X線検査、金属探知機などを使って空港の手荷物検査並みのセキュリティチェックをしていて万全ですね。
万博の場内には水や食べ物の持ち込みＯＫです。ただし液体はカバンから取り出して、液体爆発物かどうかの確認をします、厳重なチェックですね。

4. 電子チケット
セキュリティチェックの後に電子チケットをかざして場内に入ります。
この時、人が多くてネットがつながりにくく、スマホの電子チケットが表示されないことがあります。なので、電子チケットは事前に紙にプリントアウトして持参しましょう！このように、印刷した紙のQRコードで簡単に入場できました！

5. キャッシュレス決済
大阪万博は国際博覧会として初の試みとなる全面キャッシュレスを導入しています。
つまり、現金が使えません！
クレジットカード、電子マネー、コード決済などに対応していますが、スマホもクレジットカードも持っていない現金主義の方はプリペードカードを購入する必要があるのでご注意ください！

6. 持っていくべきもの
この日は雲一つない快晴！気温20度と気持ちいい一日でしたが、夏の暑い日や雨の日は列で待つのも、園内を歩くのも大変！また大阪万博の会場は海のそばなので風が強いです。
なので天候に合わせて帽子、日傘、レインコートを持参しましょう！

広すぎる万博会場
大阪万博の会場全体は155haで、東京ディズニーランドの3倍、東京ドーム33個分の広さ！
途方もなく広いので、Mapは必須です。万博アプリでMapを見ても広すぎてスクロールしながら見てもよくわかりません。会場内のInfomationにいっても紙の地図は一切置いてません。
なので、お勧めは紙のMapを持参することです。私はA3サイズにプリントアウトしたMapを持参し、それを見ながら各パビリオンの位置を確認して移動しました。大きな紙の地図はとても分かりやすかったのでお勧めです。

●スマホの電池切れに注意
多くの方は朝から夜遅くまで万博会場にいると思います。充電できる場所はありませんので、スマホの電池切れとならないよう、モバイルバッテリーを持参しましょう！

7. 食べ物・飲み物を持ち込もう
大阪万博場内にはコンビニが数軒あり、飲食店もありますが激混み、そして非常に高いです。せっかくなので1食は万博で並んで食べるべきですが、私はスーパーの弁当やおにぎりやパンを持参して休憩のときに食べました。

8. 給水所で水を補給しよう
ペットボトルの水も持参し、飲み切ると給水所で水を補給しました。ただし、給水所はかなり並んで待つので、お勧めは大屋根リングの上のトイレの脇にある給水所です。分かりにくい場所にあり誰もいないのですぐに給水できますよ！トイレも大屋根リングの上は空いているのでお勧めです！

9. 案内専門のスタッフに聞こう
大阪万博は東京ドーム３３個分もあるので、とにかく広い！地図を見ても行きたい場所が見つけられないことがあります。また、各パビリオンの外でダンスや歌などのショーなどが頻繁に行われています。万博アプリに情報が載っていますがよくわからないので、会場内にいる案内専門のスタッフに聞きましょう！
東ゲートから入場し、大屋根リングのあたりに、看板を持った案内専門のスタッフがいて、その日のイベントや、おすすめのショーの場所や時間を教えてもらえてかなり助かりました！常に同じ場所にいるわけではないので、見つけたら聞いてみるとよいですよ

●大屋根リングの上は２１時まで
大屋根リングは世界一の木造建築物としてギネスに認定されました。
圧巻の造りで、さすが木造大国日本といったところ。
大屋根の下を歩くと1本1本の木々の組み合わせ、高さや大きさに圧倒されました。エスカレーターで上にあがると景色が素晴らしい！昼間の景色も最高ですが、夜になると大屋根リングがライトアップされ、さらに魅力が増します。
大屋根の木々が暗闇の中、光で浮かび上がるようで荘厳な雰囲気に圧倒されました。
大屋根の上からの夜景は各パビリオンのライトアップも見ることができて感動的！
ただ、ここで注意点は、閉館22時の1時間前、21時以降は大屋根の上にあがれなくなります。エスカレーターは全て下りとなり、階段、エレベーター前にはスタッフがいて上らせてくれません。22時の閉館までに来場者を全て退場させるための対応のようです。
よって、21時前に大屋根リングに上がって夜景を堪能しましょう！

●入場よりも退場の方が並ぶ！
テレビなどでは大阪万博の入場時の待ち時間が長いという報道がされていますが、実際には帰るときの方が大変でした。
5月現在、大阪万博の開場時間は9時から22時。各パビリオンは21時に終了、また、絶対見るべき、水上ショー「アオと夜の虹のパレード」が終わるのも21時です。21時になると、スタッフや警備員から早く退場するよう促されます。よって、21時過ぎに東ゲート付近に多くの帰り客たちが殺到します。夢洲駅からの地下鉄に乗り切れないため、東ゲートで15分くらい立ったまま待たされました。ようやく東ゲートから退場できても、地下鉄に乗るために大回りして、500mくらい余計に歩かされました。40分かけてようやく地下鉄に乗ることができました。
1日疲れた後にこの40分待ちで歩かされたのは非常にきつかったです。
家族は22時少し前に東ゲートから出たら、ほとんど待たずに地下鉄に乗れたということです。よって21時から21時半くらいが最も混むので、22時少し前まで待ってから退場するとあまり待たずに地下鉄に乗れるかな、と思います。

●パビリオンの裏ワザ
予約が取りにくいイタリア館は、イタリア館専用の公式アプリ（Italy Expo 2025）から予約が可能です。ただし、この裏技は知れ渡ってしまったのでかなり先の日まで満員で予約が取れない日が多くなっています。
またアメリカ館は通常3時間待ちと大人気ですが、毎時行われている英語ツアーに参加すれば日本語ツアーよりも短い待ち時間で入れます。ただし、緊急時の避難対応のため英語が理解できますか？と英語で聞かれるので英語が理解できない方は参加不可となっています。

●パビリオンの予約をしよう！
最後にパビリオン、イベントの予約について。
大阪万博は予約をして指定された時間に行けば並ばずにパビリオン、イベントに入場できます。イタリア館、ガンダム（GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION）などは予約のみ、当日並んで待つこと自体できません。よって予約システムを活用することを強くお勧めします。予約は以下の4種類あります。
・2か月前抽選
・7日前抽選
・3日前空き枠先着予約
・当日登録

予約は万博アプリから行います。
２か月前抽選、７日前抽選は第１希望から第５希望まで登録し、どれか１つ当たるか、全部外れるか。結果はメールに連絡が来ます
私はチケット購入時既に2か月を切っていたので、残念ながら2か月前抽選は申し込めず残念。
7日前抽選で「三菱未来館」が当たりました！
また、おすすめは「3日前空き枠先着予約」です。これは抽選ではなく、早いもの順です！
来場の３日前の深夜０時から予約スタート！
私のチケットは５月３日だったので、３日前は４月３０日！
４月２９日の２３時半ごろ、万博サイトにログインして待ちました。
そして３０日の０時になった瞬間から「3日前空き枠先着予約」がスタート！どんどん埋まっていくので空いている時間帯を素早く見つけて予約しましょう。０時３０分にはほぼ全てなくなりますのでご注意ください！私はオランダ館を予約することができました！

そして当日登録は、万博入場１０分後からアプリでパビリオンの時間を選択して予約できます。ほとんどが空きがない✖で、△は数席しか空いていないので次へ進んでも結局空きがないと表示されることが多いです。なので〇を探して予約するとよいでしょう。
さらに、当日登録は１つのみ可能で、複数予約はできません。よって、１つ終了すると、次の予約がとれるようになるので、なるべく早い時間の予約をして、終了したら次の予約をしましょう。夜遅い時間の予約をしてしまうと、次の予約が取れなくなるので要注意です！
