[Music] welcome to Okinawa where tropical vibes meet a dash of adventure today we’re hitting all the hot spots shopping at AON Mall Ry checking out colorful buildings in the American Village and watching airplanes and helicopters land up close at Cadana Roadside Station but wait there’s more we’re diving into the retro charm of Koa City and of course no Okinawa trip is complete without a stop at its beautiful beaches so buckle up grab your sunscreen and let’s explore Okinawa where every corner feels like a postcard so we just arrived at Aon Eon Mall whatever it’s called a E O N Mall which is kind of like Westfield I guess in the United States just a big mall chain and I I got to tell you it feels just like America with the parking lot bigger than the mall itself in terms of square footage and I even saw a sign that said “Do not walk.” I I don’t feel like I’m in Japan at all i feel like I am in America right now do some consumerism let’s go buy stuff look at the Oh yeah the pretty pretty full mall huh so many cars yeah a huge mall okay so we learned that any license plate with Y see the Y on the left means it’s American military interesting huh and all the other ones are like W Japanese yeah yeah all the Japanese characters but when it’s the not the Japanese character but just the letter Y that means it is American military there so we’re at Kula one of my favorite restaurants in all of Japan so what’s really great about it is you don’t have to order tea from people see look at that they just have tea at the table and then Yeah they got some matcha or whatever at the table and uh you can just fill it up right here look at that and it’s like if you’re hungry and you want something you can either order on this handy dandy tablet or just like pick it off the line and then when you’re done with it you just put your plates right in there yeah and then after five plates there’s like a game that And you can win prizes up there prizes that you can win pretty cool all right i do it oh what happened what happened thank you wait do we just win this no oh I got it oh we won we won oh no way oh cool what did we get i don’t know it’s like a monster oh yeah it is actually or is it maybe worth more if you just leave it unopened no what Pokémon is this it’s not Pokémon i don’t know it might be i don’t recognize it me neither my memory is only from like green and red version of Pokemon i never learned anything else i only know 151 the first edition i don’t know how you guys can see this but we’ve been driving throughout all of Okinawa and we just got right near the military base and it feels like we’re in some sort of weird cross between Japan and America there’s a bunch of drive-thrus it feels like we’re in America the roads are wide japan normally has these like little dinky tiny roads but here the roads are really big three or four days 1 2 3 4 5 days here yeah just big enough to land an airplane actually that’s apparently why they one of the reasons for building interstate highway in the United States is they wanted to be able to land a plane just anywhere okay we just checked into the next hotel in America Village it feels like that yes all right all right do you want to show us around yeah sure does look nice yeah looks great all right so I didn’t realize it why all the Okinawan residents were complaining about the military bases but now I think I get it it seems like since 8:00 a.m this morning about every 20 minutes or so there’s the sound of some jet just taking off it’s like wa wow i wonder if we can see the plane here maya so we are going here for Okinawa so this is mine this is a Yeah so she was trying to give me this i told her “Oh no no no this side.” And then she was like “Oh there’s a customers that the girl to took the bigger one.” That’s why I thought that was the case big mama’s got to eat exactly so let’s see how it how does it taste okay this is poke belly it’s really soft you know I don’t actually think the small is that much smaller than this one yeah true so I got some ribs in here mhm or something tastes like pork belly mhm egg tastes like egg yo this reminds me of chicken noodle soup or something pork noodle soup it’s good just to finish up some soba now we’re going to head over to American Village yeah your hometown yeah we’re going to my hometown in Okinawa this is what the Japanese think America is like it’s kind of like this it’s very colorful not quite this colorful though maybe parts of America is this colorful they have New York style pizza over there look at that do you guys think they have dollar slice if it was a 200 yard slice that’d be that’d be close enough i think even New York doesn’t do dollar slice pizza anymore inflation so if it was like 142 yen that’d be a dollar a slice oh it’s not pizza it’s just a gift shop oh I was hoping for New York style pizza maybe they have the New York pizza over here somewhere new York style pizza oh yeah it is a New York style pizza cool all right let’s see how much does it cost one slice one side and a drink 1,300 yen h that’s not dollar slice pizza right there no looks good though american Village so nice yeah it’s great is that like sour man yeah cool oh wow that’s cool that’s cool oh Lawson we can just get instant coffee okay canned coffee might be fine okay and then we could just go enjoy it by the beach sounds good save money right yeah yeah that’s thinking unemployed oh therefore save money on coffee what was it pound foolish on the penny penny smart pound foolish okay i feel like this is the penny smart it’s probably the probably the not working part is pound foolish got the small which is actually fairly large and then the mega which is kind of like a regular American size although take a look on the inside it’s not not completely full a so it’s kind of deceiving oh they pink these uh tetropot tetropod huh i think guys tetropods pretty cool huh coffee with the tetropod yeah is that like Instagram right there yeah mega size mega size lawson’s coffee yeah with the tetropods beach man this is quite big it’s just like America look at all the parking lots the parking lot is bigger than the actual place yeah that’s true guys so I want you to notice all the lights above me so we’re in open jewelry store and everything really sparkles it’s like look at my watch look how sparkly that is but I cover it with shade no it doesn’t really sparkle yeah it doesn’t sparkle it’s like look at all those lights above that is making it really really sparkle that’s the secret if you’re in a jewelry store look up and see all the lights above just see it sparkle yeah so a what did you think of American Village it was really good it’s like a Japanese American town which has a lot of color yeah I really liked it it felt like idealized version of America and then they’re like active construction going on and building new things everything was really clean there was a lot of good food there cool stores i liked it it was nice it was good and plenty of parking that’s America yeah America for you it’s kind of hard to see but there’s all the people looking at the military base so this is a Michinoaki which is you know the Japanese kind of farmers market and it has a excellent view of the military base right next to it so it’s really kind of It is yeah hawaiian donut burger golden wings it looks good farmers market nice we got it this kid is a lot of bananas though it’s too many too many mexican yum yum not so much local oh my god ginger that’s a big ginger it’s bigger than my hand well to be fair I has small hands i think Oh is ginger big i mean my hands are kind of big so I mean the ginger is pretty big it’s compared to a’s face i think there’s a lawsuit where somebody like Burger King or something What is that the to big is I think there’s a lawsuit where Burger King hired somebody to eat I think it was a whopper and they had really tiny hands so it made the sandwich look bigger oh they got some MREs it’s M it’s a meal ready to eat oh it’s called me these things last for a long time oh they measure the loudness of the plane in decb so right now it’s 60 but if plane comes it’ll be far louder i think where we’re walking around right now is called Kosa so it is where it’s pretty close to the US military base and it really kind of caters to a lot of the soldiers around here and a lot of the signs are in English apparently it used to have just a ton of people but now it’s not nearly as popular as it once was you don’t see that every day we were just chilling in the room and then you know we just saw this outside i guess the things you see in Okinawa right all right cool cool cool let’s go see the next song oh no faster faster faster watch your stop watch your stop watch your Don’t trip don’t trip don’t trip don’t [Music] [Music] trip heat heat heat [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] wow that was cool that was a really impressive i and I were just chilling in the hotel room up up there at the at the Sunrise Hotel across the street right right over there and then we just I just heard some loud banging at first I thought it was a protest it’s like “Oh are people angry?” Yeah but it turns out they were not that angry they were all in a very good mood and there’s a lot of energy cool so we just uh sprinted down well after watching one song and then I figured oh let’s let’s go down let’s do another one and they probably won’t be doing too many more cuz they’re doing a lot of movement so they probably be tired after about three everybody agrees with you A it’s a good place there’s tour buses here yeah it’s a good sign i don’t know it’s a good sign is it a good sign um it’s a sign it’s a sign all right cool [Music] man that’s a lot of buses just a quick stop i’m expecting a really good view there’s a lot of people tour groups all here to see the view it’s hyped that’s for sure although you can’t really see much so let me just uh Oh yeah extend the selfie stick i hope I can see things okay i mean I’m good it looks nice okay all right quick quick get your selfie it’s a Yes yes yeah yeah i am all right all right we got it good view really good view uh very crowded we are very busy it’s a cruise potentially oh my god the the the reason I said cruise is I saw a sign that’s short excursions for Royal Caribbean so that some sort of Royal Caribbean cruise here but yeah I mean it’s a beautiful view man that’s a lot of buses more than 10 so yeah I would say too crowded depends on the day and time I guess yeah yeah exactly happened during a busy time yeah for sure this is more beautiful what do they need so many trucks for somebody protesting a protest well they’re moving a lot of dirt or something maybe they’re not moving a lot of dirt at least they’re not blocking this side of the street yeah that’s a lot of trucks oh my god all right look at that it’s just a bridge to another island what fun let’s do it let’s go to another island why not local island is it a good island i think so let’s find out i like those like impromptu stuff yeah yeah let’s do it i bet the aquarium just got a lot of people anyways something’s telling me i have a I have a feeling okay wow what a bridge what a bridge that’s cool head west hey nice free parking right here yeah so so it’s 10 bucks to park back there but it’s free right here so let’s check it out what a good looking beach right here nice island the sand is really white you know what’s interesting about sand hm computers are just sand is it yeah yeah it’s made from sand yeah yeah yeah exactly you know computers are sand that we taught to think now when they say the expression “Oh you’re dumb as a rock.” H it’s like the the sand that we give we teach with AI we’ve soon smarter than all of us so if you think about it soon so the sand is smarter than us well not like this but like one of the main ingredients in sand is silicone silicone can be doped to create circuits on it those circuits from the sand could be used to create computers add a little electricity and put in the right pattern you’ve essentially made a rock that could think and they’ll probably be smarter than all of us so when you say “Oh you’re as dumb as a rock.” You’re kind of saying you’re really really smart it’s fine yeah all right stopped another beach called snorkeling go check it out wow it looks really nice so we just went snorkeling and man that snorkeling was freaking awesome yeah it was so cool now technically I think we could bring this camera into the water so we could show you guys all the fish but there was a sad time when we were in the where were we the Gopagos Island yeah we were in the Gopagos Island i had the Action 3 so this is the Action 5 for reference and but anyways it’s like I started filming the fish and then you could you see some of the fish and then the video just cuts out so in Japan if you cut somebody off or something when you’re driving you’re supposed to bow to them so it’s like uh there was a one-way road that we were just on and I went off to the side and let the other car pass and the the other driver did not bow so I was like “Where’s my bow where’s my bow bow to me.” We’re going to go across another bridge go to a different island what’s this island called gordy Island h chicken wow nice looking bridge very beautiful so do you know what rent stands for um the license plate rental car yes rental car oh how did you know Mark you just told me oh pineapple oh pricey is it how much is it 2500 woo so we got the Goya chips we just bought some Goya chips yes they’re not bad they’re kind of like potato chips bitter right um a little bit not bitter like a bitter aftertaste but healthy I think not bad i kind of like acquiring taste mhm now we going to the hotel man this is a nice hotel only 70 bucks a night that’s the benefit of coming to Okinawa in the offse welcome to paradise or as we say in Okinawa Mensor this is Kadushi Beach Resort your ultimate getaway for fun relaxation and a little bit of everything in between first stop the gift shop need a quirky Okinawan souvenir a quick snack forgot your sunscreen don’t worry they’ve got you covered it’s like a treasure chest of goodies waiting to be explored feeling competitive head over to the game center whether you’re a kid or just a kid at heart there’s plenty here to keep you entertained next up the pool area picture this under the brilliant Okinawan sun floating in a massive pool or chilling in the outdoor jacuzzi while watching the sunset sounds dreamy right for the fitness buffs out there don’t you worry we’ve got a gym because why not squeeze in a workout before hitting the buffet speaking of buffets let’s talk about breakfast start your day with an incredible spread of Okanowan and international delights whether you’re craving fluffy pancakes fresh tropical fruits or an Okinawan specialties like Goya Champ this buffet has it all next up the room tour welcome to the room let me show you around so over here is the bathroom you got both his and hers now you also in case you need to go number one or number two you got your nice toilet with all of the fancy bedet amenities ooh fancy then coming through here you got nice picture that you could just stare at you know nice ambiance and then you have a giant mirror so you can look at your beautiful self a light in case the power goes out yeah in case of emergency yes and then you got your giant bathtub which is pretty darn nice if you ask me we have the bedroom where you have a nice little couch where you can sit at and uh not one not two not three but four beds for your sleeping enjoyment so in case you want to go over night you can do so between all the different beds and if you want to do work you’ve got the nice beautiful woven leather chair that you can go and sit on and in case you need to do some important calls you can call anywhere you want all over the world right with this phone and then not only do you have all that but you have this beautiful view look at all that greenery and this wonderful balcony yes ah and you can look out and you even have a somewhat of an ocean view right over there if if you look really hard and a beautiful view of the parking lot yes but all of this how much would you pay a lot of people would pay maybe a,000 bucks a night we paid $70 per night pretty good if you ask me all right now let’s go enjoy this room for a little bit he’s just hanging out in there it’s like a little massage oh yeah oh yeah [Music] really enjoying this what kind of fish is that called is that a clown fish oh that’s a Dora oh yeah good morning and bye-bye bye-bye Kadushi Resort yeah it was fantastic fan flippantastic yeah so we made it to Zanpa Beach which is a beach in Okinawa all right so I think my goal in life is not sit on the beach cuz sitting on beach I think standing on the beach is much better yeah see look at those feet good standing on beach huh check out these feet so stupid yeah so standing on the beach better than sitting on the beach sitting on the beach there i think you have to pay for those chairs i don’t I’m too cheap to pay so we’re just standing in See the water well it was also really hot so we wanted to kind of cool down a little bit true it got the color of the water there is no color it’s just clear it’s not pineapple yeah it’s not pineapple it did look pineapple from a distance what’s this touch it i’m afraid oh another vehicle hard hard uh we’ve been driving for a long time just a half a tank pretty darn cool huh i love K car yeah i can’t believe how efficient it is yeah we’ve driven for like 5 days 5 days and we drove a lot and we’re still just at a half a tank that’s insane this must be a very fuel efficient car and then tiny too very tiny an A&W should we do this combo no I don’t want all those okay yeah so basically I just don’t want all those French fries the curry fries is kind of their signature that’s why I know but they’re not healthy mw and Okinawa oh cool all right let’s see moza burger and then this A&W burger all right let’s try both got this wow look at that burger yum yum yum yum okay now look at that burger oh good looking burger yeah the W burger big onion ring on there too m oh nice there’s a lot going on there is that a hamburger patty plus like some sort of meat i don’t know what that is bacon ham not bacon ham lunch meat i can’t tell oh okay onion ring tomato lettuce I think mayonnaise sesame seed bun there’s a lot i don’t know might be too much okay i I like them both they’re both good i don’t know it’s hard to tell which one’s better i like They’re both pretty good stop stop look at you off then you can prove that you filled it up yeah yeah sand from the beach so we’re going to go vacuum that up customer yeah yeah we’re we’re good people work hard we made it back to the rental car place wow so O this is so ridiculous you look like a hunchback can you explain what o means o means fashionable mosquito isolate they’re definitely fake yeah for sure i’m pretty sure they’re fake how can you tell it just doesn’t look good i see although I don’t really even like the look of Otarp watches but you know typically a Hublo right there is not quartz so I can tell you that can tell you one thing i see yeah it’s obvious yeah it doesn’t it doesn’t typically tick like that yeah yeah this is for sure fake it’s huge airplane next up we’re off to the electrifying city of Hong Kong get ready to wander through historic ruins where the past comes alive several incredible dishes at local spots and marvel at the iconic Victoria Harbor skyline as it lights up the night from bustling
