Visiting Japanese Castle Ruins from 1336 🏯

I hopped on the train and went to Tamaru Station (田丸駅), a small area in the Town of Tamaki (玉城町). Here they have the ruins of Tamaru castle (田丸城) which was first built in 1336 and demolished in 1871. But amazingly enough some of the original foundation of the castle grounds still remain, which you can walk to the top of for a great view of the area. I also visited a museum that has information of not only the castle, but also Ryohei Murayama (村山龍平), founder of Asahi Shimbun (朝日新聞), a Japanese news paper that started back in 1879 and is still published today as one of Japan’s biggest news papers! So come along and enjoy the calm walk as I check out this peaceful Japanese countryside town, where there’s surprisingly a lot to see!
