Hangzhou is a very beautiful place. Actually the Summer Palace in Beijing was constructed based on the landscape of West Lake. The Summer Palace was built becasue of one of the Emperior in Qing Dynasty, he liked West Lake very much and so he sent some people to West Lake and drew a lot of pictures. Then the construction department followed the pictures and copied it in Beijing.
There is a famous idiom in China : Above is Heaven, below is Suzhou and Hangzhou. It means the beauty of Suzhou and Hangzhou is comparable to Heaven.
