福井県の美浜町と若狭町にまたがる 三方五湖。この湖群は 三方湖、水月湖、菅湖、久々子湖、日向湖 の5つから成り、それぞれ水質や水深が異なるため、湖面の色も変化に富んでいます。その美しいグラデーションから「五色の湖」とも呼ばれています。
しかし、早春から晩秋にかけての 日本海の青さ も、三方五湖に負けないほど魅力的です。この 三方五湖と日本海を一望できるスポット が、レインボーライン山頂公園。
ここでは、リフトまたはケーブルカー（料金：1000円）で山頂へ登ると、 360度の大パノラマ が広がります。五色に輝く湖と、日本海の壮大な景色を同時に楽しめる絶景スポットです。
The Mikata Five Lakes stretch across Mihama Town and Wakasa Town in Fukui Prefecture. This group of lakes consists of Mikata Lake, Suigetsu Lake, Suga Lake, Kugushi Lake, and Hiruga Lake, each with different water quality and depth, creating a diverse range of colors on the lake surfaces. Because of this beautiful gradation, they are also known as the “Five-Colored Lakes.”
However, from early spring to late autumn, the deep blue of the Japan Sea is just as mesmerizing as the Mikata Five Lakes. One of the best spots to take in the breathtaking views of both the Mikata Five Lakes and the Japan Sea is Rainbow Line Summit Park.
Visitors can take a lift or cable car (1,000 yen) to the summit, where a 360-degree panoramic view unfolds. This scenic spot offers a spectacular experience, allowing you to enjoy the shimmering Five Lakes and the vast beauty of the Japan Sea at the same time.
