「Japan 1minute Travel」静岡 西伊豆 大田子海岸（SHIZUOKA Nishiizu）2024年秋の天文ショー「紫金山・アトラス彗星」を撮る人多数、夕日を撮っているのはボクひとり
ここは静岡県西伊豆町にある大田子海岸。この西伊豆町は一年を通して夕日を楽しめる場所として知られており、夕日の絶景ポイントが数多く存在します。私が知る限りでも、黄金崎、堂ヶ島、沢田公園、仁科河口、そしてこの大田子海岸などが挙げられます。実際、海岸線沿いを車で走れば、どこからでも美しい夕景を楽しめるエリアです。
特にここ大田子海岸には、夕日を見るための展望スペースが整備されており、地元のボランティアの方々によって運営されているみたいです。春分や秋分の頃には、中央にある「ゴジラ岩」に夕日が重なる瞬間が見られるため、特に人気が高いそうです。この日も、多くの人が遅くまでカメラを構えており、何か特別なことがあるのだろうかと思いました。
私はその理由を気にせず、サッサと車で帰りましたが、後で知ったのですが「紫金山・アトラス彗星」を撮影するためだったということです。この場所は光害が少ないため、きっと美しい光の尾を捉えることができたのではないでしょうか。
ちなみに、最後のほうにそれらしき彗星が写っています。
This is Otago Coast, located in Nishi-Izu Town, Shizuoka Prefecture. Nishi-Izu is renowned as a place where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets throughout the year, with numerous scenic spots for sunset viewing. As far as I know, some of the notable spots include Koganezaki, Dogashima, Sawada Park, Nishina Estuary, and of course, Otago Coast. In fact, driving along the coastline, you can witness stunning sunsets from virtually anywhere in this area.
Specifically, Otago Coast features a viewing space designed for watching sunsets, seemingly managed by local volunteers. During the spring and autumn equinoxes, the setting sun aligns perfectly with the “Godzilla Rock” at the center, making it an especially popular spot. On the day I visited, many people were staying late with their cameras ready, which made me wonder if something special was happening.
Without giving it much thought, I left the area in my car, but I later learned that people were there to capture the “Zijin Mountain-Atlas Comet.” Since this location has very little light pollution, I’m sure they managed to photograph the comet’s beautiful tail. Incidentally, upon reviewing my own photos, I noticed what seemed to be the comet captured in the background.
