SHORT TREK! TENJINZAN TO MATSUGATKE. Ruins of a castle in The Sengoku Period.

From Marukoyama Park, go around Iwamuro Shrine from Mt. Tenjin via Matsugatake.
The reverse route may also be interesting.
Take a look at Tenjin Mountain, which has become famous for Tenchijin!
It is located about 1 hour by car from the center of Niigata City in the direction of Yahiko.

Mt. Tenjin is a mountain with an altitude of 234 m.
There is a lookout deck about 30 minutes up the hill from Iwamuro Onsen Marukoyama Park, overlooking the Echigo Plain. You can see the beautiful ridgelines of the Gozu mountain range, Niitsu Hills, Kawauchi Massif, and Mt. Awaga. It is a good place to rest.
If you walk a little, you will see the remains of the castle such as earthworks, stone mounds, gourd ponds, and warrior pools. If you walk a little further from there, you will find the main ruins of the summit of Mt. Tenjin.
There is a mountain trail to the summit of Mt. Tenjin.
From the summit of Mt. Tenjin, the number of visitors is much smaller, and it is Matsugatake. In some places, you can see the scenery through the trees.
You can go with sneakers, but if you can, you can rest assured that you can use mountaineering shoes and trekking shoes.
In spring, flowers such as clumps of Katakuri are blooming.
In summer, the greenery of the trees, the green of the rice fields of the Echigo Plain,
In autumn, you can enjoy the fiery autumn leaves.

Finally, the North Country Highway, the North Country Highway? I was grateful for the safety of the day by visiting Iwamuro Shrine, the guardian deity of Iwamuro Onsen.
There is no distance from Iwamuro Shrine to Marukoyama Park, so it is recommended for a walking course.
Iwamuro Onsen is nearby, so you can enjoy a day trip to the hot spring.

丸小山公園から天神山から松ヶ岳経由で岩室神社を周回。
逆ルートもおもしろいかも。
天地人で有名になった天神山、いってみてね！
新潟市中心部から車で1時間ほど弥彦方面へ向かった場所にあります。

天神山は標高234mの山です。
岩室温泉丸小山公園から30分ほど登ったところに物見台があり、越後平野を見渡せます。五頭連峰、新津丘陵、川内山塊、粟ケ岳の美しい稜線がのぞめます。休憩に良い場所です。
少し歩くと土塁石石塁、瓢箪池、武者溜りなど城郭跡が残っています。そこからもう少し歩くと天神山山頂の本丸跡があります。
天神山山頂までは登山道が整備されています。
天神山山頂から先は訪れる人はぐっと少なくなり松ヶ岳です。ところどころで木々の合間から景色が望めます。
スニーカーでもいけるでしょうが、できたら登山靴トレッキングシューズだと安心です。
春はカタクリの群生など花が咲いています。
夏は木々の緑、越後平野の田んぼの緑、
秋は燃えるような紅葉が楽しめます。

最後に北国街道、北國街道？岩室温泉の守り神、岩室神社参拝で1日の安全に感謝しました。
岩室神社から丸小山公園まで距離もないので散策コースにおすすめです。
岩室温泉が近いので日帰温泉も楽しめます。
