三段山は十勝連峰に属しており、昔から吹上温泉、白銀荘をベースとした山スキーのメッカとして有名です。
山自体の標高は低いのですが（1,748m）、山頂から見る上ホロカメットクや十勝岳の景観は絶景で、十分な高度感を味わえます。夏山としては多少物足りませんが、山スキーのゲレンデとしては、適度な傾斜を持つ広大なスロープを有しています。雪質も深い粉雪を湛える樹林帯からガリガリにクラストした頂上付近まで実に多彩に変化し、何度滑っても飽きることがありません。
Sandanyama belongs to the Tokachi mountain range and has long been famous as a mecca for mountain skiing, with Fukiage Onsen and Shiroganeso as its base.

Although the mountain itself is low in altitude (1,748m), the view of Kamihorokametoku and Tokachidake from the summit is spectacular, giving you a sense of height. As a summer mountain it is a little lacking, but as a ski slope it has a vast slope with a moderate incline. The snow quality is also extremely diverse, ranging from deep powder in the forest zone to the crusty snow near the summit, so you will never get bored no matter how many times you ski.
