薩摩半島最南端！
長崎鼻です。
竜宮神社もあり、浦島太郎伝説の地。
今回はあえて歴史の話しはしません（笑）
地理です！
ココ長崎鼻は、薩摩半島の先端ですが、
出っ張ってます。
ソレは何故か？
そうです、此処はカルデラなのです！
つまりでっかい火口。
阿多カルデラの１部です。
そして、イッシーで有名な池田湖も、カルデラ湖。深さ233mもあります。
その横の鰻湖、山川湾はマール。
簡単に言うと、カルデラは噴火で吹き飛んだ窪み。
マールは地下水が水蒸気爆発で陥没した窪み。
ちなみに今も噴火している桜島は、
姶良カルデラの１部。
阿蘇からつづく、霧島火山帯の１部です。
今でも噴火しているこの火山帯のおかげで、指宿はそこら中で温泉出てます。
地面熱いです。
砂浜もです（笑）
だから、砂蒸し風呂ができます。
タモリさんもブラタモリで埋まってました♪
あれも指宿です。
とにかく火口だらけの鹿児島県。
さすが火山銀座です。
その代表格、開聞岳が近くにあり、
長崎鼻からは海越しの開聞岳が綺麗に見えます！！
この開聞岳の噴火のおかげで大発見がありました。
そう、縄文土器と弥生土器は時代が違うと言う事が分かりました。
それまでは違う部族、種族の物だと考えられてました。
それが地層にあった噴火後で、年代が分かり、その上下で時代差が分かり、
その層の上にあった物が弥生土器で、
下に縄文土器があった為に、年代が違う事がはっきりしました。

The southernmost tip of the Satsuma Peninsula!

It is also home to Ryugu Shrine and is the site of the legend of Urashima Taro.

Geography!
Nagasaki-hana is the tip of the Satsuma Peninsula.
It sticks out.
Why is that?
Yes, this is a caldera!
In other words, a huge crater.
This is part of the Ata Caldera.
Lake Ikeda, famous for Issie, is also a caldera lake with a depth of 233m.
Next to it are Lake Unagi and Yamakawa Bay, which are marshes.
Simply put, a caldera is a depression blown out by an eruption.
A marl is a depression formed when groundwater collapses due to a steam explosion.
By the way, Sakurajima, which is still erupting,
Part of the Aira Caldera.
It is part of the Kirishima volcanic belt, which continues from Aso.
Thanks to this volcanic belt, which is still erupting, Ibusuki has hot springs all over the place.
The ground is hot.
The beach too (laughs).
So you can have a sand bath.
Tamori-san was also busy with Bura Tamori ♪
That is also in Ibusuki.
Kagoshima Prefecture is simply full of craters.
As expected from Volcano Ginza.
The most representative of these is Mount Kaimon, which is nearby.
From Nagasaki-hana, you can get a beautiful view of Mt. Kaimon across the sea!!
This eruption of Mt. Kaimon led to a major discovery.
Yes, we now know that Jomon pottery and Yayoi pottery are from different eras.
Until then, it was thought to belong to a different tribe or species.
This is the post-eruption stratum, so we can tell its age, and we can see the difference in time between above and below it.
The items on top of that layer were Yayoi pottery.
Because there was Jomon pottery underneath, it became clear that they were from different eras.
