秩父屋台のうち最も古い貴重な屋台。現在の屋台はほぼ江戸時代後期、文政年代（1804〜1830年）に修造が行われたものといわれ、各部の構造にも高度の工作技術が見え、装飾彫刻も屋型とよく均整を保ち、秩父祭屋台のうち最も端正な姿をとどめています。歌舞伎舞台の構造も他の屋台と同様。後幕は、想像上の霊獣である猩々酔舞（しょうじょうすいまい）、水引幕は飛鶴の刺繍、縫取り。

約300年前に始まった秩父夜祭は、京都祇園祭、飛騨高山祭とともに日本三大山車祭りの一つとして知られています。 傘鉾と呼ばれる2台の山車と、屋台と呼ばれる4台の山車があります。秩父夜祭は、秩父神社の一大祭です。 豪華な山車を曳いて、ちちぶの街を巡り、山車の中では歌舞伎が披露されます。 夜空には花火が打ち上げられ、多くの参拝客で賑わいます。
祭りの起源は、江戸時代中期、神社の境内に生糸の市が開かれたことに遡ります。冬の空に打ち上がる花火を背景に、山車の上で揺れる色鮮やかな提灯が祭りの魅力です。
秩父夜祭の山車と神楽は、国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定されています。

The oldest and most valuable of the Chichibu floats. The current float was renovated during the Bunsei era (1804-1830), in the late Edo period, and the structure of each part shows advanced craftsmanship, and the decorative carvings are well balanced with the roof, making it the most elegant of the Chichibu Festival floats. The structure of the kabuki stage is the same as the other floats. The back curtain features the imaginary sacred beast Shojo Suimai, and the mizuhiki curtain is embroidered and sewn with flying cranes.

The Chichibu Night Festival, which began about 300 years ago, is known as one of the three major float festivals in Japan, along with the Kyoto Gion Festival and the Hida Takayama Festival. There are two floats called Kasaboko and four floats called Yatai. The Chichibu Night Festival is a major festival of Chichibu Shrine. Gorgeous floats are pulled around the town of Chichibu, and kabuki performances are performed inside the floats. Fireworks are launched into the night sky, and the festival is crowded with many worshippers.
The origin of the festival dates back to the mid-Edo period, when a raw silk market was held within the shrine grounds. The colorful lanterns swaying on the floats against the backdrop of fireworks in the winter sky are the charm of the festival.
The floats and kagura of the Chichibu Night Festival are designated as Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties of Japan.
