Fall foliage in Southern tip of Kyoto Prefecture, Joruriji temple (Kizugawa City) #autumn #kyoto

Joruriji Temple was built during the Nara period (710–794) by Priest Gyoki on the orders of Emperor Shomu. The main hall was constructed at the end of the Heian period.

National Treasures: The three-story pagoda, the main hall, a row of nine wooden statues of Amida Nyorai, and statues of the Four Heavenly Kings.
National Places of Scenic Beauty: The Japanese Garden.

Located in Kizugawa City in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture, Joruriji Temple is a quieter spot for enjoying fall foliage compared to other popular locations in Kyoto. I highly recommend it.
