瑞牆山（みずがきやま）は標高2,230m、奥秩父山塊の主脈の一つでその西端に位置し、秩父多摩国立公園に属します。全山が黒雲母の花崗岩で形成され、天に向かってそびえ立つ幾つもの岩峰群には圧倒されます。まるで水墨画のようなその山容は、新緑・紅葉シーズンともに全国屈指の景勝地です。
瑞牆山にはもう一つ、ボルダリングの聖地としての側面があります。都心から２時間程度のアクセスしやすい距離にあることから、週末を中心に国内だけでなく、海外からも多くのクライマーが訪れています。160以上のボルダー（独立した巨大な岩）と数多くのルート・課題がある日本屈指のスポットとなっています。　
Mount Mizugaki is 2,230 meters above sea level and is located at the western end of the main range of the Okuchichibu mountain massif. It is part of Chichibu-Tama National Park. The entire mountain is made of biotite granite, and the numerous rocky peaks that rise up into the sky are overwhelming. The mountain’s shape, resembling a watercolor painting, is one of the most scenic spots in the country, both in the spring and autumn foliage seasons.
Mount Mizugaki also has the side of being a mecca for bouldering. As it is easily accessible from the city center in about two hours, many climbers from not only Japan but also overseas visit, especially on weekends. It is one of Japan’s top spots, with over 160 boulders (huge free-standing rocks) and numerous routes and challenges.
