⁴ᴷ Aomori: Mutsu Shrine Alley (青森県: むつ市神社横丁) – Japan Walking Tour (May, 2024)

In May, we will be shooting while heading to Tsugaru. We traveled from Akita Prefecture to Aomori Prefecture.
I came to Mutsu City, the largest city on the Shimokita Peninsula, because I wanted to walk around Jinja Yokocho, which I had seen on TV. The population of Mutsu City is about 50,000, but there are so many restaurants that they are not commensurate with the size of the city. The streets are not paved and there are stores mixed in with private houses, creating a nice atmosphere. I wonder if the city was able to maintain such a scale because of the large number of workers in the city who were involved in the nuclear power industry.
