海に祈り、甚句に魂を。

海とともに生きるまち、茅ヶ崎。
中海岸八大龍王神の例大祭には、海の恵みへの感謝、地域の絆、そして受け継がれる伝統への思いが息づいています。

八大龍王は、海の安全と豊漁を願う人々に、古くから大切にされてきた存在です。漁に出る人々の無事を祈り、海からいただく恵みに感謝する。その信仰の足跡は、今も茅ヶ崎の海辺に残る石碑などに見ることができます。

昭和53年（1978年）に生まれた中海岸八大龍王神のお神輿。浜降祭にも参加し、保存会と地域の皆様によって大切に守られています。

祭りに響く甚句と、力強い掛け声。
肩を寄せ合う担ぎ手、声を届ける歌い手、沿道で迎える人々。そして、祭りを支える地域のお店や住民の皆様。
一人ひとりの力が集まり、まちの伝統が生きた姿となって現れます。

私にとって、担ぎ手たちは「中海岸のウォリアーズ」。
お神輿の重みを分かち合い、仲間を励まし、先人から託された思いを未来へ運ぶ人々です。

茅ヶ崎の海とまちを歩いていると、海辺も、道も、人々の心も、大きな祈りの場のように感じられます。

私にとって、お神輿は神様をお乗せする、記憶の器でもあります。
そこには、先人たちの願い、家族や仲間との思い出、そして故郷への誇りが宿っています。

「Ultimate Mikoshi」。
それは、人と神様、過去と未来が、祭りを通して結ばれる瞬間。
その熱気と、そこに込められた心を、映像として残していきたいと思います。

このシリーズでは、2026年10月11日に行われた中海岸八大龍王神例大祭のさまざまな場面をお届けします。

保存会、担ぎ手、甚句を歌われた皆様、地域のお店、住民の皆様、そして祭りを支えたすべての方々へ、心から感謝と敬意を捧げます。

海の恵みを忘れず、まちの記憶を絶やさず。
受け継がれる魂を、次の世代へ。

Nakakaigan Hachidai Ryūōjin Annual Festival 2026
Prayers to the sea. Soul in every verse of jinku.

Chigasaki—a town that lives with the sea.
The Nakakaigan Hachidai Ryūōjin Annual Festival brings together gratitude for the ocean’s gifts, community bonds, and devotion to traditions passed down through generations.

Hachidai Ryūō has long been revered for safety at sea and abundant catches. Prayers for the safe return of those who go fishing, together with gratitude for the sea’s bounty, are part of this coastal heritage. Stone monuments dedicated to Hachidai Ryūō still preserve traces of that faith along Chigasaki’s shores.

Built in 1978, the Nakakaigan Hachidai Ryūōjin mikoshi also participates in Hamaori-sai. Today, it is carefully maintained by the preservation association and the local community.

Jinku singing and powerful calls fill the festival with energy.
Bearers stand shoulder to shoulder. Singers raise their voices. People welcome the procession along the streets, while local businesses and residents help sustain the celebration.
Through their shared efforts, tradition comes alive.

To me, the bearers are the “Warriors of Nakakaigan”—sharing the weight of the mikoshi, encouraging one another, and carrying the devotion of earlier generations into the future.

Walking through Chigasaki, I feel its shore, streets, and people’s hearts becoming one great place of prayer.

To me, a mikoshi carries the divine and holds the memories of its people.
Within it live the wishes of those who came before us, memories of family and friends, and pride in one’s hometown.

“Ultimate Mikoshi.”
It is the moment when people and the divine, past and future, meet through a living festival.
Through my videos, I hope to preserve both its powerful energy and the heartfelt devotion behind it.

This series presents different moments from the Nakakaigan Hachidai Ryūōjin Annual Festival held on October 11, 2026.

My heartfelt gratitude and respect go to the preservation association, the bearers, the jinku singers, local businesses, residents, and everyone who supported the festival.
