I have 2 who are sisters ..never had this breed b4 …I’m in love with them and would have another 2 tomorrow ..they are very loving and affectionate dogs who hate being on their own which make them great company when you live by yourself…only downside I have found is don’t leave them on their own any longer than 4 hours in the day …they do sleep on their own together at night fine though ..they say not good guard dogs but believe me ..they never miss anything and are not dogs that bark at everything like my other dog who is border terrier
My TT toby just passed away a few days ago, miss him too much.
I had four TTs. I love the breed but it is hard to find them. Their price now (2021) is minimally $2000.00 in the US.

My TT mix passed away last year. He was my Soul, perfect dog for me. Big hole in my. heart. Very smart, had a variety of things we did together. I am in a w/c; to him it was part of me, weaving through things, totally comfortable, Fit in w/ my son's 2 very large dogs; excellent w/people, children. I am looking for one now.
We have one he’s lovely but can be a bit snappy at times with other dogs

I just lost my sweet precious boy TT. I met him online and fell in love when I saw his baby picture. I drove to Missouri and brought him home. He gave me the happiest years of my life. My heart is hurting and broken. This is the best breed!!! So loyal and sweet. I will never get over him. 💔💔💔
The best dogs in the world. Important to mention is that this dog should be handled as though it were a large dog… you could easily mistake them for pooches but these are fierce, brave and tenacious working dogs at the base (especially the Lamleh descendants).

Try more like min. $80 to see vet…we were there yesterday with some lumbar discomfort..weight can be issue and back strain as low and long structure..
I’ve had 4 TTS and I’ve loved all of them. An uncommon dog breed that is the best ever! I love them to pieces! I groom them myself by brushing and I have my own clippers to clean up the hindquarters and face.
My tibetan will be 16 in a few months. He's the best dog I ever had. He was easy to train, and he trained my maltesse who passed away last yr. They adored each other. He's almost totally blind and deaf and sleeps constantly, but he still loves his walks and his hugs. He has always been a big pleaser.
I recently got one his name is Marco he’s 3 months old and he has a strong personality like most Tibetan terriers

I’ve had Lhasa Apsos for years… these dogs look like a bigger Lhasa. So cute!
You will adore this puppy but they need time with you and attention. You cannot leave them alone nor let them off their leash. This is a Magnificent Magical Puppy. They are very expensive and you will quickly learn why.
You can't train them 😢….mine died in just 7 yrs….he was very beautiful
we got 2 of them, and they are really Loyal, flegmatic, gentle and smart (kinda :D) But doesnt like other animals they dont know

I wouldn't call my Tibetan terrier a great family dog, at least not compared with the Labradors I grew up with. She is very person focused – of course she is extremely exited to see and gets on well with family and friends but truly listens and looks for direction just from me (I live next door with my direct and extended family). Where the labs would demand affection and try to sneak snacks from everyone by acting like dumb giant love bundles my Tibetan is a lot smarter and purposed in her actions and only cuddles when she feels like it and only whom she feels like, otherwise she's happy to stay around but out of touch reach. Very adorable and loving, highly intelligent, wanting to please and really easy to train as long as you can get their attention. Was already house clean when I got her at 12 weeks old by herself/ mother, was able to portion her own food (which after having had two labs was something unfathomable) though has become more food focused with age, definitely has a strong and independent head of her own and likes to challenge commands when in familiar surroundings (though perfect obedience on walks/ trips)
While a guard dog breed and therefore prone to barking she leaves it at a "hey there is someone" bark and doesn't fall into a barking fit. Loves to do an adorable wolf's howl whenever she hears sirens.
As a puppy the only problem I faced was her gnawing on furniture and her not being interested in food as an reward, so while she was happy to learn and do tricks without that incentive it was a bit harder to get her attention with distractions around (dog school).
Prone to ear infections (you need to pluck the hairs inside her ears out every now and then) and, due to having semi retractable claws (so a bit like a cat), tends to scratch herself bloody occasionally which does take a lot of supervision and tending to heal completely.
Other than that a wonderful, adoring and adorable, clean and highly intelligent dog breed that is always willing and able to match your energy. Loves to go on wander tours as much as chilling on the couch.
