(EU)の気象情報機関「コペルニクス気候変動サービス」(C3S)は10日、気候変動と発達中のエルニーニョ現象が相まって陸地と海面の平均気温を押し上げた結果、世界は観測史上2番目に暑い5月を経験したと発表した。
先月の世界平均気温は19世紀の産業革命以前の平均気温を摂氏1.42度上回ったという。1940年以降で、最も気温が高かった5月は2024年だった。
西欧州ではこれほど早い時期に観測された中で最も深刻な熱波の一つに見舞われ、太平洋の一部では異例の高温が観測された。
