自動車関連の事業を実施しているRMCustomです。静岡県裾野市で主に自動車のバンパーやボンネット等、社外エアロパーツの造形・FRP製品の開発・生産を行っています。
開発したエアロパーツは、東京オートサロンや大阪オートメッセ等の自動車イベントで展示されている車両にも取り付けられています。
多忙時期を除き、普段は従業員1名と2人で仕事をしています。

Job description
This is RMCustom, which conducts automobile-related businesses. In Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, we mainly develop and produce external aero parts and FRP products, such as automobile bumpers and bonnets.The developed aero parts are also attached to vehicles exhibited at automobile events such as Tokyo Auto Salon and Osaka Auto Messe.Except for busy periods, I usually work with one employee and two.
火災について
2年前に独立し、工場を借りて仕事をしていましたが、2026年1月7日、工場で火災が発生しました。
当時、従業員は体調不良で休んでおり、私は塗料を買いに外出していました。買い出しを終え、工場付近まで戻ると、黒い煙と嗅いだことの無い臭い、数台の消防車、、
近くで火災が起きているのだろうと、この時はまだ他人事でした。
が、それも束の間、すぐに出火元が私の借りている工場だと分かり、お客様から預かっていた車を外に出そうと、その場に車を停め急いで工場へ駆け付けシャッターを開けようとしましたが、消防の方に止められ、私はただただ工場が燃えていくのを見ている事しか出来ませんでした。

I became independent two years ago and rented a factory to work, but on January 7, 2026, a fire broke out at the factory.At that time, the employee was absent due to poor health, and I was out to buy paint. When I finished shopping and returned to the factory, there was black smoke and a smell I had never smelled, several fire trucks,At this time, it was someone else’s business, thinking that there was a fire nearby.But for a moment, I immediately realized that the source of the fire was the factory I was renting, and I stopped the car on the spot and rushed to the factory to open the shutter, but the fire department stopped me, and I just All I could do was watch the factory burn.
2時間ほどの消火活動の後、工場の中を見ると、お客様から預かっていた車・従業員の車・自身の車、計3台が全焼しており、お客様から預かっていた製品、私達が仕事で使用していた全ての工具や機材も黒く燃えて、見た事のない光景を目の当たりにしました。
まるで一面が灰色のモノトーンの世界の様でした。
After about 2 hours of fire extinguishing, when I looked inside the factory, I saw that the car kept by the customer, the employee’s car, and my own car, a total of 3 cars were burned, and the products that the customer kept, all the tools and equipment we used at work were also burned black, and I saw I witnessed a scene where nothing happened.It was like a monotone world with a gray surface.
火災原因
翌日には消防と警察の立ち会いがあり、続いて保険会社・火災事故調査会社による調査も始まりましたが、火災当時、工場は無人だったこともあり、現在も出火原因は分かっていません。
Cause of fire
The next day, firefighters and police were present, followed by an investigation by insurance companies and fire accident investigation companies, but at the time of the fire, the factory was unmanned, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
賠償
火災保険には加入していましたが、火災原因が分からない状況では保険が降りず、お客様からお預かりしていた車や物の賠償の目処も立っていません。自己資金もなく、金融機関から借入をしようと何件も審査申込をしましたが、独立して2年の私には借入先が見つかりませんでした。保険が降りたとしても、補償範囲に限りがある為、全てを保険で賄うことは出来ず、どのようにしてお客様への賠償をしていくのか、路頭に迷っています。
Compensation
I had fire insurance, but in a situation where the cause of the fire is unknown, the insurance does not come down, and there is no prospect of compensation for the car or property that the customer kept. I didn’t have my own funds, and I applied for several cases to borrow from financial institutions, but I haven’t been able to find a borrower for 2 years since I’ve been independent. Even if the insurance is taken out, the scope of coverage is limited, so it is not possible to cover everything with insurance, and I am confused about how to compensate the customer.
再建しようと決意した思い
働く場所と仕事に必要な工具や機材も全て失い、お客様に与えてしまった多額の損害賠償だけが残り、途方に暮れ時間だけが過ぎて行きました。本来であれば、被害を受けたお客様から責められても仕方の無い状況にも関わらず、なるべく早く再建して仕事を始めて欲しいという言葉を頂いたり、背中を押してくれたり、応援してくれるお客様がいた事に驚きました。
金銭面において再建する事に不安や戸惑いもありましたが、同時に応援してくれる人がいる限り諦めてはいけないと思い、その期待に応えようと、その時から新しい工場探しと資金調達に注力し、何とか空き物件を使用させてもらえるようになりました。しかし建物は古く、倒壊の恐れのある1棟の建物の解体費用に300万円、改修すれば使用できるもう1棟の建物の改修費用に600万円と工具や機材の購入費100万円、総額1000万円程が必要になります。
開業2年の私に融資して下さる金融機関はなく、今回クラウドファンディングに挑戦してみようと思いました。
The decision to rebuild
I lost my workplace and all the tools and equipment I needed for my work, and was left with only the huge amount of compensation I had to pay to my customers. I was at a loss, and time just passed by. Even though I should have been blamed by my customers who had suffered losses, I was surprised to hear from them that they wanted me to rebuild as soon as possible and start working again, and that some customers even encouraged me and supported me.I was anxious and hesitant about rebuilding financially, but at the same time, I felt that I couldn’t give up as long as there were people supporting me. In order to meet their expectations, I focused on finding a new factory and raising funds, and somehow managed to get permission to use a vacant property. However, the building was old, and I needed 3 million yen to demolish one building that was at risk of collapse, 6 million yen to renovate the other building, which could be used with renovations, and 1 million yen to purchase tools and equipment, for a total of about 10 million yen.Since I had only been in business for two years, no financial institutions were willing to lend me money, so I decided to try crowdfunding.
