[ブリュッセル ８日 ロイター] – 欧州連合（ＥＵ）欧州委員会は８日、域内主要産業の人工知能（ＡＩ）利用促進を図る総額１０億ユーロ（１１億ドル）規模の「ＡＩ活用戦略」を発表した。
４月に打ち出した行動計画に沿った取り組み。この行動計画は、昨年８月に発効したＥＵのＡＩ利用規則の順守に苦戦するスタートアップ企業のコストや規制面での負担軽減を目的としている。
ＥＵはこうした動きを通じて、先端技術分野で米国や中国への依存を減らそうという狙いもある。
欧州委はＡＩ利用を拡大すべき産業として医療、製薬、エネルギー、モビリティー、工業、建設、農業食品、防衛、通信、文化を挙げた。具体的には、医療におけるＡＩベースの先端的な検査センター設置や、工業、気候、製薬などでの自律型ＡＩの開発などを目指す。
フォンデアライエン委員長は「ＡＩの未来を欧州が（独自に）生み出したい。ＡＩの採用を普及する必要があり、これらの戦略は普及プロセスの加速に役立つ。ロボットから医療、エネルギー、自動車まで全ての重要セクターで『ＡＩファースト』を推進していく」と述べた。
