Тройного акселя нет – может отдыхать. Обыкновенное скучное катание.
Смотреть неинтересно.
Только вращения в конце программы – хороши.
Но с ними у русских не выиграть.
Хореографии нет, образа нет.
По сравнению с русскими девочками программа слабовата и нужна
Dull generic program. Stunning dress and mao has more ability and it needs to be shown with better choreography and music choice lost speed too. She has little competition unfortunately.
I feel it is very sad she is still a junior… not fair!!!
incredibly gifted skater who would have for sure been Olympic podium contender in 2026 if not for the age raise. I can't help feeling though that while this short isn't bad, it is a bit beneath her now. it very much gives advanced novice to first year junior vibes and a little juvenile for Mao. while there are plenty of musical accents, there is an impression of it rambling on and on.

очень простенько, без акселя 3,5 даже. смотришьь девчонок российских и думаешь какие они яркие, практически все с квадами и 3,5 акселем! это суперски!

Mao Shimada will soon be 16 years old, and her jumping content in the short program is still not impressive, as is the overall level of skating – and yet she has been the world leader among juniors for two years in a row… Here, for comparison, is the performances of short programs by Russian juniors, who were 11-12 years old last season:

Can't compare with Russian girls in terms of technique and art!!! Just watch to evaluate ISU's level.
Two hair things that detract from a figure skating performance which is common to how Japanese skaters style themselves, a pony tail that flings out during spins with some random clip perched above the pony tail. The gloves are ok, if you don't have nice hand and finger movements. But if you do, then it's a disadvantage to use them, something Russian ladies never understood.
