バイデン大統領“新型コロナ”陽性 予定されていた演説は中止 職務は遂行(2024年7月18日)
ホワイトハウスはバイデン大統領が新型コロナウイルスの検査で陽性が確認されたと発表しました。
バイデン大統領は選挙活動のため、西部のネバダ州ラスベガスを訪問していました。
17日午後、鼻水とせきを伴う症状が現れたことから、新型コロナウイルスの検査をしたところ、陽性が確認されたということです。
症状は軽く、デラウェア州の自宅に戻って隔離措置を取りますが、大統領としての職務は完全に遂行するとしています。

バイデン氏は大統領選挙の激戦州であるネバダ州を訪問し、ヒスパニック系団体の集会で演説する予定でしたが中止となりました。
陽性が確認される数時間前にはラスベガス市内のレストランに立ち寄り、客と歓談していました。
