Are you ready for some more #sundayvibes? 😎

Today Uncle Will’s Jukebox is grooving to “Westchester Lady” by the Grammy-winning @bobjamesmusic 🏆 This fun track was written by Bob James with Harvey Mason on drums, Eric Gale on guitar, Ralph MacDonald on percussion, me on bass. We had fun recording this at Rudy van Gelder’s studio in New Jersey.

#BTS: Harvey Mason’s drums were flown in from California, but were in locked cases. Nobody had a key, because his LA cartage people weren’t there to open them! Luckily, I had just bought the biggest Swiss Army knife I could find and had it with me. After trying nearly all of the 20 blades, I finally found one that opened the locks on the huge red anvil drum cases, and we were able to record “Westchester Lady”. 🎶

Side note: Fresh Prince & @djjazzyjeff sampled the song for their multi-platinum album “He’s The DJ, I’m The Rapper” for the track “Here We Go Again”. You never know where your notes will end up! 🤯

  1. Bob James, the most sampled artist ever. Here's where all the good parts of Circles by Adam F came from.
