Hit a fire erupted and it engulfed every part of this area the BBC visited wajima 2 days after the earthquake while building were still smoldering 4 weeks on you could see the extent of damage in every corner of this town and the loss its people have experienced this was a

Residential street in wajima and now it’s turned into a wasteland and if you look around you could see signs of everyday life like that toy in the middle of the rubble or the books when the earthquake hit on New Year’s Day many families were gathered in their homes celebrating and within minutes

This is what their houses have turned into and they had to run for cover many have been telling me they’ve been without running water now for a month Aid has been coming in but it has been slow because of how remote this area is and because of the level of Devastation

Some people have tried to gain access to their homes but for people in this street it’s almost impossible we’ve been given access to this house and I want to show you the extent of damage some of the buildings um have suffered if you come with me here this is

1月1日に最大震度7を観測した能登半島地震の発生から、1カ月余りが経過した。これまでに241人の死亡が確認され、11人が安否不明となっている（ 9日午後2時時点 ）。
地震による住宅被害は6万236棟に上った。
石川県輪島市は甚大な被害を受けた場所の一つで、多くの建物が倒壊したほか、大規模な火災も発生した。
BBC取材班は発災から4週間余りが経過した輪島市を再び訪れ、いまも続く壊滅的な被害状況を取材した。
