南米エクアドルで9日、テレビ局のスタジオに覆面をした武装集団が押し入り、おびえるスタッフを銃などで脅した。

事件があったのは、最大都市グアヤキルの公共テレビ局TC。襲撃は生放送中に起こり、スタッフが床に押し倒され後、放送が途絶えた。

武装集団はその後、数人の人質を連れてスタジオを出るところが目撃された。一方で、警察は何人かの容疑者を逮捕した。

エクアドルでは7日、犯罪組織「ロス・チョネロス」のリーダー、ホセ・アドルフォ・マシアス受刑者が、グアヤキルの刑務所から脱走。ダニエル・ノボア大統領はこれを受け、8日に60日間の非常事態宣言を発令した。

テレビ局での事件と、マシアス受刑者の逃亡との関係は不明だ。

ノボア大統領は9日、同国には現在「国内武力紛争」が存在し、「国際組織犯罪、テロ組織、好戦的な非国家主体」と呼ばれるものを「無力化するための軍事作戦」に向け、軍隊を動員していると述べた。
