Hirano Ayumu – With his BIG step! 🏂🇯🇵

Japan’s Hirano Ayumu finally managed to reach the top step of the Olympic podium when he won gold in the snowboard men’s halfpipe at Beijing 2022. The 23-year-old took silver in Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018, but he wasn’t to be denied this time as he beat Scotty James (AUS) and Jan Scherrer (SUI).
The competition will also be remembered as the final contest of legendary snowboarder Shaun White’s career, and the American finished just outside the medals in fourth.
