米・テキサス州で15日（現地時間）に行われたヒューストン・マラソンで、2時間19分24秒で女子の日本歴代2位記録を刻んだ新谷仁美（34）＝積水化学＝が16日、自身のツイッターを更新。野口みずきさんの持つ日本記録（2時間19分12秒）への再チャレンジを、今年9月のベルリンマラソンで行うことを表明した。 女子では18年ぶりに2時間19分台の大台に乗せた新谷は、「9月のベルリンマラソンで再挑戦しようと思います」などとつづった。さらに今後の試合スケジュールも明記。2024年パリ五輪の代表選考会となるMGC（10月15日開催）は出ずに、ベルリンマラソンに専念する意向を示した。野口さんの日本記録、さらに歴代3位の渋井陽子さん、同4位の高橋尚子さんの記録はすべてベルリンで刻まれている。キプチョゲ（ケニア）の世界記録の舞台にもなった超高速レースで、大記録に挑む。IMPORTANT!
