宮本浩次が、名曲カバーを中心としたスペシャルなコンサート『ロマンスの夜』を1月16日(月) に東京・東京ガーデンシアターで開催。そのオフィシャルレポートが到着した。
『ロマンスの夜』は、当初2022年11月から12月に東京と神戸の2会場4公演で予定されていたが、東京2公演が宮本の体調不良により延期となり、神戸公演終了後に代替公演として東京ガーデンシアターで実施された。 2019年にソロ活動を本格スタートしてから丸4年。コロナ禍で一度はツアー全公演中止を余儀なくされながらも、2021年10月から2022年6月には『日本全国縦横無尽』と題した47都道府県ツアーが行われた。一方、2020年秋にリリースしたカバーアルバム『ROMANCE』はヒットを記録。昭和歌謡の名曲を女性の歌に限定してカバーするという試みは、ロックバンドのフロントマンとしての顔とは別の表情を世間に知らしめ、第71回芸術選奨 文部科学大臣賞 大衆芸能部門を受賞した。本コンサートはこの『ROMANCE』の延長線上にあり、「『ロマンスの夜』の招待状として制作した」と本人が語るカバーミニアルバム『秋の日に』も昨秋発売されている。
