India is now registering more than 3 lakh cases every day. Such a big spike in covid cases has prompted a shortage of beds and oxygen with this the country is already facing a big crisis. Furthermore, the scientists are now very closely looking at not just the double mutant but also the emergence of a triple mutant strain of the virus that has been reported in Maharashtra, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. Dr Rakesh Mishra director of CSIR says that “probably the most concerning issue of this virus is that it continues to change”. He also mentions that with the increase in the spread of the virus, more mutations tend to be seen.
