美しい反りを持った太刀。
日本刀が歴史上に現れたのは平安時代であるとされております。

今回の動画で採り上げる、古波平と極められたこの太刀は、平安時代中期のものと推定されており、史上最も古い年紀として知られる平治二年紀の行正を、製作年代の上で凌ぐと鑑られます。
しかも製作当初から現在に至るまで、姿に一切手を加えられていない、生ぶ茎。
切先から茎の先端まで、製作された千年の昔から変わらぬ姿で、令和の世に現存する
この稀有な作を、余すところなく鑑賞、解説してまいります。

A Thousand Years of History: The Heian Period Tachi
This tachi possesses a beautiful curve. It is said that Japanese swords first appeared during the Heian period. The tachi featured in this video, signed as “Ko namihira,” is estimated to date from the mid-Heian period and is considered to predate the Heiji 2 (1160) dated Yukimasa sword, which was previously known as the oldest dated Japanese sword.
Moreover, it has an untouched nakago (tang) that has remained unmodified from its creation to the present day. From its kissaki (point) to the tip of its nakago, this rare piece exists in the Reiwa era exactly as it was crafted a thousand years ago. We will provide a thorough appreciation and explanation of this exceptional work.
This mid-Heian period tachi, which is rarely seen even in museums and art galleries, will be shown in complete detail from every angle. Don’t miss it!
