You should try the alba botanica cream shave. I have the mango vanilla and it smells great and makes my skin feel like silk!

NYC is not a cruelty free brand, they state they do not test their FINISHED products on animals but that does not state they do not test the INGREDIENTS on animals. They also do not have the animal friendly bunny on their products. Your call but it's a little too sketchy for me personally to take that risk. Just letting you know. Ultimately your choice though. 🙂
Burts Bees is a cruelty free but they're owned by a company that does test on animals.
When you said you're a total tree hugged, that's totally me too. I'm definitely an animal freak and want to help the environment! Great haul & hopefully I'll purchase from this website now!
