ＧＭ、北米4工場に10億ドル投資　ＥＶ需要減でガソリン車生産強化

[デトロイト２９日ロイター] – 米自動車大手ゼネラル・モーターズ（ＧＭ）(GM.N), opens new tabは２９日、ガソリンエンジンと変速機、鋳造品を生産する‌米国内の３工場とカナダの１工場に総額１０億米ドル規模の投資をすると発表した。電気自動車（ＥＶ）の需要が鈍化する中、内燃機関搭載車の生産能力を強化⁠する。

今回の投資は、ピックアップトラック「シボレー・シルバラード」やＳＵＶ（スポーツタイプ多目的車）「キャデラック・エスカレード」など次世代モデルの製造に振り向けられる。トランプ米政権が企業に対して国内生産への投資拡大‌を迫⁠る中、ＧＭはこの１年間に国内工場に対する計６０億ドルの投資を決めたと明らかにした。

内訳は、米中西部ミシガン州のロムルス工場に３億ドルを⁠投じて変速機を増産。同州サギノーの鋳造工場には１億５０００万ドルを投資し、エンジン部品の生産⁠を増強する。

オハイオ州トレドの工場には４０００万ドルを投じて変速機を増産。カナ⁠ダでは東部オンタリオ州の拠点に６億９１００万カナダドル（５億０４９０万米ドル）を投資し、Ｖ型８気筒の次世代ガソリンエンジンを生産する。
