  1. Dark Souls 2 is when Miyazaki tells his apprentice to design it, but he thinks more enemies means more punishment, hence the Dark Souls difficulty experience. this game made me look at every corner for potential gankers. Elden ring is easy for me cause of my heightened awareness of my surrounding

  2. Prior to Elden Rings release, I referred to DS2 as the spiritual successor to Kings Field. Despite being in 3rd person, it always felt more like KF that DS.

  3. I have no idea why but this game grew a lot on me, i first cleared elden ring, then did DS 1 2 3 then sekiro and well… exiting DS2 and going in 3 my only though was "wtf give me my ugly graphics back", i never leveled up adaptability and didn't know you needed a minimum of intelligence to get elemental resistance so i cleared 2/3rd of the game with 0.

And yet i Fin love it, flaws and all, and plan to 100% it including getting the two illusory rings.

  4. 4:51 you are wrong. A lot of people hate on this game for no reason. There is a lot of "criticism" (the hate in question)(the demon of Babylon disguises himself in the coat of righteous) that can be summed up as: bias, subjective opinions, misconceptions and lies (but I agree that the keyboard jank is terrible). All of it contained in mid videogame "critiques" that recite the same bullshit that was already said in the previous videos made by others. People watch these videos and if they don't know any better, they will believe that Dark Souls II is an objectively bad game. (and then, some will hate on it)

I'm glad that you were able to enjoy the game though.
    Hugs and kisses

  5. if he just defeated them often enough, they would have stopped appearing…
enemy spawns in this game were limited sometimes.

  6. Maybe it's because I played it and got the plat a few years back (with only like 25 points in adaptability because I didn't know it was responsible for I-frames on dodges back then) but I genuinely don't remember DS2 being so janky and scuffed, unless they improved the enemy AI in the Scholar of the First Sin edition, which would explain a lot. Anyway, happy Thanksgiving guys!

  7. the fact that i knew what was gonna happen a few seconds before it happened every time, it´s a testament to how much i love this game

  8. Yeah DS2 enemy placement is the worst. They put way to many strong enemies together. In the DLC it can be worse

  9. If you are using keyboard and don’t want the game to eat your attack inputs, disable double clicking every time you launch the game(It doesn’t save). As for the right clicking for right weapon and left weapon I just inverted those.

  10. M&kb controls are horrible for ds2. When I played it, there was like a half second delay on every input. Definitely recommend playing on controller if you can, makes a lot more sense

  11. the weakest is the remaster of both 1 and 2 as they change too much like the first ones rolling and the weight limits as you cannot take the short cut at the first area under the bridge. and 2 adds way to many enemies and no one wants a new experience after they finish a good game. I played both of their original and the remaster edition and they sucked especially dsr.

  12. I just finished the base game yesterday and it was super mid. I used a dark crypt blacksword + 5 with dark weapon and the sacred chime hammer. I’m gonna play the dlcs today. Only good boss so far was darklurker.

  13. 0:40 Runs into trap, gets ganked, runs into unfamiliar territory with more enemies, gets more ganked. Must be that Elden Ring brain 😭

(Jk love your content) but the start of this video is a good case study showing why people hate the game, and no it isn’t the game itself. When you say “there is a reason people hate this game, okay” implying that people hate the game because there is some intrinsic flaw, that is very disingenuous. Hate alone isn’t enough to justify disliking something, and when it comes down to it the only valid reasons to dislike Ds2 are ADP and soul memory. Everything else is just “I don’t like slow games” or delusion. Ds2 is the game everyone knows to hate. They rush into it, be stupid, and then blame the game for it, and then reconfirm the fact that Ds2 sucks, and then reconfirm those suspicious, and the cycle repeats. You are stupid in Ds3? It’s your fault. You are stupid in main game Elden Ring? Just get on your horse there’s no danger, or if it’s in a level you can spam l2 with little problem. Dumb in Ds1? Poise through everything or run back to a safe space. Dumb in Ds2? Run full speed ahead into unfamiliar territory after running into a trap and then say look how bad this game is! It’s that bias that makes people dislike Ds2, and that number of people is also way overblown. They’re a very vocal minority.

Anyways I’ll get off my soapbox now 🥱

  14. DS2 is meh and weird on a first playthrough, however on replay it becomes the best DS game.

  15. Fun fact about Ds2, you can duck or jump over mostly everything. It’s hitboxes are actually good it’s just low adp or bosses hitting your feet after you roll in the wrong direction that makes it feel like you get hit when you shouldn’t. Ds2 is more a game about avoiding hits all together than dodging them.

So next time you play Ds2, always roll into things, and try doing backstep into running attack a lot! It will usually, depending on the weapon, make your character duck while attacking, no rolling required! This also applies to any move you can do that makes you duck your head or jump high into the air.

  16. Words cannot describe how godawful the mouse and keyboard settings are. The input lag from having double clicking enabled combined with the fact that the setting is bugged and resets it's self every time you boot up the game drives me up the wall. If they remastered dark souls 2 again and the only thing they changed was the mouse and keyboard integration I'd buy it.
