Congrats on clearing Dark Souls 1, with some very fitting headgear. It's not a perfect game, but it's always fun to try a different build when replaying it. I hope one day you get to play the game that started it all, Demon's Souls.

DS1 is a real classic. I can tell by how into its world and presentation you were by the end that it totally clicked for you how these games came to obtain the cult following they have
I think the closest thing that's come to perfectly replicating the specific feel of Dark Souls 1 (even better than some later Souls games) is Hollow Knight
Dark souls trilogy run would be nice

Thank you for playing the firt DArk Souls, its one of my favs of all time and it has a special place in my heart even with all its bugginess and scuff, its a classic that set the road for amazing games down the line and Im glad you enjoyed it, took time exploring and readin lore, what a great series!!! Im sure to catch the rest of the Dark Souls trilogy if you decide to play it, and have fun in your vacays!!

Congrats! You really flew this one! I think it would be a good choice to play DS3 next then circle back to DS2. I remember DS3 having a lot of call backs to DS1 while DS2 felt more like a separate story.

This playthrough really highlights how much of the mystical "Dark Souls difficulty" is really just due to poor tutorialization and unintuitive mechanics. The main reason why people struggle is because they go through the game massively underpowered in both stats and knowledge.
There are so many important mechanics or interactions that the game simply never tells you about and if you don't discover them by accident then you never will. So players are only able to guess and experiment but then the game will also ruthlessly punish you for experimentation because the systems are so rigid that you can't amend your choices later even if you realize that something is useless.
But now look at what the game becomes once you actually use a build that focuses your resources somewhat effectively (which should usually be a basic thing in a videogame). Suddenly it's one of the easiest game's ever where you can steamroll everything without paying attention to attack patterns or anything and will only really die to jank and gravity.
Surprisingly the Prepare to Die edition had less bugs and worked better, yet is no longer available to purchase even though it's a better version. Kinda odd.
Yeah, even farming grasses was less annoying than blood vials and you can buy grasses in Demon's Souls.
