Watching the timelines get closer to collision was the most intriguing and difficult part of this game… it adds a sense of discomfort seeing the characters – knowing what will happen to them when Ellie tracks them down. I know TLOU has never been a horror game, but they sure set up that bottom hospital floor perfectly… the clickers, suspense, and a whole new mutation?! Not to mention by the end of this episode I didn’t know if I should be cheering for Tommy or not, since I feel so close to Abby now. UGH this game is truly amazing, hope y’all enjoyed this next segment!! I am so excited to hear y’all’s reactions to the end!

It's actually not an island. It's a part of Seattle. The water in between is where part of Seattle sunk underwater. So it looks like an island, but in reality it's all Seattle.
You're in the home stretch now, things are about to get really crazy, happy holidays
Merry Christmas to you and your family Maggie! That fight with the rat king had me PANICKING for you 😂 hopefully my neighbors don’t question me yelling RELOAD THE FLAMETHROWER 🥲😂
Okay, just help you out since I’m a Resident Evil fan as well. The monster you’ve been talking about is the “William Birkin” who uses the “G-Virus”.
Can’t wait to see the next The Last of Us reaction videos.
Author, do not read the comments, otherwise someone will write the final
I got to this part having heard about the rat king and I was still scared at every turn. The amount of stoked I was when I finished him off 😤
1:00:04 l love how insightful you are.
52:54 LOLOLOL!!
1:44:00 might be Bainbridge Island or Vashon. I’m a Seattle local but I don’t venture to those islands often so I’m not sure
1:10:32 .. it always makes me so sad that Yara and Lev's only knowledge and perception of dogs, is as merciless hunters, terrifying extensions of their WLF masters.. theyve not had a single good memory with a dog.. never cuddled in a puppy puddle.. dog piled until you can't breath from laughing.. never come home to the most loving excited to see you creature in your life.. that is just so so sad to me.. I'm glad they at least got to see a dogs true nature, be shown affection.. they had never even pet a dog before.. 🥺😢😭
I wake up and this is first thing i see. What a great day.
32:05 Maggie try listening to jazz versions of video game music…lmk what you think!!!!
Great watch! The rat king boss fight was intense!
It's amazing how far Naughty Dog can push you out of your comfort zone–and Manny's the spitting image of that (pun intended, haha). Manny's was a pretty solid dude if you look at it objectively. Spitting on Joel was… well… it was everyone's first real exposure to him in a moment of heightened tension and mixed emotions, so that act tends to stick out for a lot of people–which is rather ironic considering a lot of people give passes to the rest of the WLF crew over time, but rarely Manny. It's a nice change of pace to see you enjoy him.
While he doesn't quite have Owen's level of morality when it comes to "the enemy", Manny's arguably the glue that holds the group together and a caretaker by nature when it comes to his friends. He looks after his father's worsening illness with compassion (the sharp pain in his wrists when holding a spoon), he's the one trying to get Abby and Mel to get along (part of his 'family'), he's combat-efficient and looks out for those around him. He also stays loyal to Abby when she needs him the most and risks his own ass by going against Isaac and the WLF to assist/cover for Abby while she searched for Owen.
Mostly I see people complain about his swearing, casual sex, spitting on Joel and the time he cut the line (Really guys? He was headed to the frontlines. Veteran soldiers in militaristic societies have always had priority when it comes to food rations and special treatment.) Honestly, had he not spit on Joel, there's almost nothing bad you could say about the guy. From Manny's perspective, Joel was a smuggler who double-crossed and murdered his best friend's dad (he was in the room next to Owen when Abby discovered the body, people seem to forget that) and probably killed some of his Firefly friends at the hospital. For someone to think that doesn't earn someone the notion that it's vindication to spit on a dead body, they're not even trying to understand his point-of-view. As far as swearing goes, has anyone listened to our girl Ellie?? Almost every time Ellie fights someone, she probably sounds like a fucking lunatic before she murders them. XD
And the man had sex dens for his bisexual nature. Big deal. Clearly he liked to be romantic and there's never an allusion to him treating any of his partners poorly. In fact, as evidenced by the note left for him outside the stadium that Abby finds and he steals away, he's very clearly passionate and makes them feel pretty good about themselves. All that characterization for a supporting character most games would turn into a footnote–THAT is why Naughty Dog is so often praised for their efforts towards rich storytelling.
45:30 always feels like there is a moment of respect between two titanic forces…I love these moments with Abby, when she's in full survival mode…It has the same vibe as when she geared up for the fight with the Stalkers right after Lev cut her free…gives me adrenaline every time!!!
46:34 Kasta: "…okay this look like a good spot…"
Rat King: *troll smile "Kool-Aid man powers activate…"
Merry Christmas Maggie and Everyone 🎄
This episode… Foooof 😰🤗😨
You were Sooo close to a COIN at the hospital. It was just opposite the door Ellie first came through.
I was really gutted you didn't try those locked double doors, the sound you hear and the shake of the controller 😰 it was a great stand out moment for me but on the other hand you were convincing yourself that nothing scary was gonna happen so I couldn't wait for your reaction to the RK! 🤭🫣……
"What was birthed?" 😁
Meets RK 😳 Two silent WTF's 😆
Nicely done 🫡… "I think I peed myself." 😄
So close to several coins:
Just before leaving the hospital carpark 🤏
As soon as you're outside with Yara 🤏
Behind the train station shelter 🤏
That was great
Happy holidays to you & the family ❤️
1:01:19 feels different this time cuz Abby found some peace in helping people she once considered her enemies…notice no alarms ringing and her Father greeting her warmly…Everything about this game is as deep or as shallow as you'd like it to be, and that is what makes it a masterpiece!!!
you are really good to beat the rat monster on the first try congratulations
Ellie and Tommy did get everyone right? or all of them are dead at least? Nick was the first one we saw that Tommy tortured, the Ellie stabbed Jordan, Scars shot Leah, Ellie killed Nora, Ellie killed Mel and Owen and Tommy shot Manny right? that's 7 out of 8 of the ones that helped kill Joel? only Abby left
It's Christmas today where I'm from so Merry early Christmas to all of you!
How much ammo does Tommy have LOL
Abby should recognize Tommy, seeing as he and his brother saved her f life that one time before she bushwhacked them.
I don't think the Seraphites island is actually an "island" it's just the Interbay neighborhood isolated by flooding from the contiguous downtown area.
I am loving that hat on you! Btw you are amazing you're my favorite youtuber and I discovered your Telltale's The Walking Dead series just a few weeks ago! Love your reactions, love how you play and I love your personality❤ Happy Holidays everyone!!
The contrast between "looking for the light" in a hopeful sense and plunging yourself self-destructively into flame (in more of a moth sense) seems to be at the core of this game. Humanity's capacity to imagine a better future versus its self-destructive impulses both individually and at scale.
Soundtrack of this game always gets me.
46:42 and 52:55 LMFAO 🤣
This was survivor horror at its finest. I mean, c’mon, you thought you had a good hiding spot and dude just breaks through the wall 😫
Damn!! I really dig the outfits Maggie wearing on this. And finally someone realised the Sniper is Tommy, so many let's players didn't realize it until someone said it or seen Tommy before he fallen to the water.
In Mel's head she was mad at Abby because right after Owen had been accused of killing an ally because of a scar Abby did the same thing so Mel thought they had something going on trying to save scars together. Mel didn't know that Abby was doing it out her own guilt with her father n Joel n just trying to find peace in her self. Another example of how just communicating could have changed things extremely.
Please 3 videos a week again or longer videos if possible 😅
When I say I was waiting on the rat king episode 😈
On my 1st playthrough, I died SOOÒ MANY times. I kept running into corners, getting trapped by things in the environment, had trouble switching weapons (until I learned about R1)….like OMG…this encounter was brutal.
There's nothing to be puzzles about religious cult believers, they will always believe in their religion first than family. The rules cult or "prophets" said or written is like most divine to them, Even it means sacrifice their children or something worse.
I seen real life twisted cult that make women's and girls married or have sex with the "prophet" for released of a sin. And they had a their own "paradise" place for the gathering.
Your in for a threat next section have fun 🙂
If you go back and replay the Ellie / Nora scene, you can hear Abby fighting the Rat King in the distance.
1:00:40 To me, the moment when Abby gets to her peak as a likeable character in the game is in the way Yara and Abby look at each other after surgery.
This may be my over-active imagination, but I found a few places previously where there was evidence of a body being dragged assumedly to some destination. I think this was all in the infected infested (say that ten times fast) sky-scraper that Abby and Lev descended.
I started piecing together that we were going to run into some horrible amalgamation. I was relieved when we exited the building and found the hospital.
Of course much to my chagrin, I had just stumbled into the most terrifying part of the game. Those previous observations may have been coincidental, but they perfectly paced my elevated feeling of terror.
I may have missed something but why is the boss called "Rat King"?
Okay That was weird I didn't even realize that was Tommy when I played it until you just said so
Merry Christmas, Maggy!
I so enjoyed watching Tommy shoot Manny through the head.
I'm sure Abby recognized Tommy and now she knows who they are and more importantly WHY they're hunting her and her friends.
You have to realize that the Seattle area has FLOODED. The levies and other flood prevention methods no longer exist or are no longer maintained. What was once a single land mass has become various NEW islands that didn't exist before. Haven is on a newly created island.
Such optimism having no idea what's coming. The scariest thing is definitely not the atmosphere and the game does almost give you more than you can handle.
Good night, sleep tight, and for the love of everything holy, don’t let that Rat King bite.
The Space Needle isn't on an island in our world. At first, I assumed it was Bainbridge Island, but I think Naughty Dog took artistic liberties with Seattle's geography.
You may have figured this out by the end of the video, but the answer to hangman just came to me: Zealous
Also Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
52:55 OSSSS…PA 😱
