What happens if you bring the Elder Scroll to Paarthurnax during your first encounter with him? To find out, I ventured into the Black Reach, battling through hordes of Falmer to reach the farthest Dwarven tower. Inside, after some time, I reached a puzzle. Upon solving it, I gained access to the Elder Scroll. Unfortunately, due to an unclear bug, I couldn’t activate the Dwemer device, so I had to reload the game. On the second attempt, I managed to do it, and after solving the puzzle, I gained access to the Elder Scroll. Of course, I took it and went straight to Paarthurnax at the Throat of the World.

Love you party snacks
Oh shit I just realized I did this on my new play through 😭
"Alduin will be coming soon,"
Me after carrying the scroll in my inventory for the entire fourth Era: "……..what?"
Finally I see that someone got the same glitch with "The Puzzle" that I get in every playthrough! Although mine fixes itself after 2-8 resets, and had what feels like a 50% chance (probably only 5-10%) to completely softlock the progress of the main quest, and I have to recreate whatever build I was running and restart my run! [This has happened since the original game when I had no internet and a Xbox 360 all the way through the following 2 console generations too the Xbox Series X and S, and over multiple console factory resets and reinstalls, so I'm convinced that it's linked with my account, but I don't know what it would be? I know it started before, but I was also part of the small amount of people that got a "Day-One Edition" Xbox One and a console patch completely bricked my console for nearly 2 years that Microsoft has been covering up, and yes I even did the manual system wipe and restore through Microsoft with the flash-drive, but it still didn't fix the glitch once I could play again and Skyrim was added too the "Backwards compatibility" list, and I even got GamePass so I could play the Skyrim: Special Edition and it persists, so would that cause the problem/some sort of profile corruption with the modern consoles since the Xbox One made the "If the console is connected to the internet we'll stream the game too your console, and just use your disc (or account if bought something digitally) as the verification code.) Crazy with all gaming systems a norm.] My Xbox also "Home screens" me and says that I can't play a game because I don't have the correct version (i.e. 360, Xbox One, or Series X version) even though the game that crashes only has one version, does anyone know what that'd be about or if the problems are linked?
I did this on my play through because I waited incredibly long to do the main story
That’s the exact same dialog you would get if you return with it normally
Youre a cuck for just now, many years later, posting what everyone else already knew, and has done, multiple times
To save you time:
Nothing. Nothing happens.
Quick tip: if u know where the exit to the dwarven ruin is, u can plate walk through the locked door n immediately be in the room to transcribe the lexicon, instead of going through cave after cave
Oh I wonder what would happen if you brought one of the other two elder scrolls to parthanax instead of the dragon one.
So you can skip so much of the storry?
"Do not delay"…. (Returns years later)
"So you're finally ready to fight Alduin"
"Alduin?? I was really just wanting to complete my dragon mask/claw collection"
i got this dialog making the Dawn guard main quest first an then doing the main quest.
I’ve had that bug. So annoying
Neglected to mention you went to Septimus before Blackreach since you can’t get in there otherwise lol
Epic
He probably just assumed you had it because you were fated to have it, so he shrugged it off
Does this mean you saved that one guy from disintegrating or does the quest with the Oghma still trigger if you don't speak to him about the Elder Scroll: Dragon first?
So litterally the same dialog, that wad worth recording
Isn't this what he usually says?
I did this because I just wanted to skip half the story and he didn’t even say anything it just jumped into the cutscene for me learning it
Some times I wonder how THE Charles Martinete got hired to voice Parthunax
Crazy thing is that I did everything he does on the videos, guess I need a life
I have never spoken to parthenax, i kill the obvious threat every time.
Did you know that the voice actor of Mario plays him as wel
Party snacks is the best dragon in Skyrim
I did just that anyway, in my first walkthrough, so wha's so special about it… what others do instead..??..
Dovakin throwing Elder Scrolls around : You get a Scroll! You get a Scroll! And YOU get a Scroll!
There are too many mispronunciations in this short for it to be unintentional i swear
Now that’s what I’m going to do in my new current playthrough.
I use a platter. take a platter to the tower of mzark, go thru the gate and down. i havnt been to blackreach in years
That's a shame, it's the same line Paarthurnax would say even if you gotten it normally. It would have been cool to get a line like "You got it already?! Dragonborn, you are" or something like that.
What happens if you kill Paarthurnax for Delphine? Because I still have no clue.
I got all 3 before i got to him today, did not do this on purpose.
Yeah. Same as normal.
I prefer to hear him say it as you're coming up the slope anyway. Gives the moment and the lines more tension; he senses the world-bending power approaching and is so itching w/ anticipation that he speaks first and before you're all the way there.
Does that mean it’s possible to save Aldwin?
The problem is not all elder scrolls are the same.
So in other words, there is no special dialogue. He says the same thing.
No way I genuinely thought this was a real guy until it said partysnax name, AI getting out of hand now
Don't really think we needed the explanation about how you get the scroll
I don't think I've ever met with Paarthurnax without the Dragon Scroll, I always do the Daedra quest before the main story.
1 minute video, only 20sec for the info you seek, 40sec of useless filling.
I'm so impressed with this game.. even 14 years later… they took a lot of care and time to think through most all scenarios and the writing, for the most part, is out of this world good. Most games today still can't hold a candle to Skyrim.
why did you include the part where there was a bug and you had to reload. no one cares. imagine trying to pad for time in a youtube short
bro doesn’t even question you 😭
