Mets vs D-Backs Highlights: Francisco Alvarez hits game-tying 9th inning homer in 2-1 win | SNY

Kodai Senga pitched an eight-inning gem against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday but the Mets offense was quiet until Francisco Alvarez belted a game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth. Mark Canha followed up with an RBI triple, leading New York to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory.

  1. I hope this turns the tides and this team plays to their potential from now on. LGM

  2. Senga, Scherzer & Verlander have been pretty good last few outings hopefully each can put together 8-12 high quality starts going forward along with clutch hitting then just maybe 🤔 the rotten 1st half will be totally forgotten.

  3. Was at the game yesterday and Senga was supposed to pitch; looks like they made the right call by giving him another day off! Lots of Mets fans at the Dbacks yesterday…LETS GO METS! The season ain’t over!!

  4. Mets wanna win now when they have fallen to far behind in the standings… Where were the winning streaks earlier in the season

  5. I'll believe their winners when they win 10 of the next 15, but right now Alvarez and Senga are good enough reasons to tune in and watch! Fran's so clutch with the homers in the 9th! Absolute BEAST!

  6. Keith’s “ohhh”s are really starting to get out of control. Wish one of the producers would let him know.

  7. The difference between Alvarez a few weeks into the season and the last 2 months is night and day. His approach at the plate is so much better and his defense has improved so much.

Easily one of their biggest wins of the season and could be a turning point if Mets somehow turn this season around.

  8. McNeil, Alonzo and Alvarez are doing these lazy swings that are half cocked and not fully committing…it's leading to pop ups and easy outs

  9. Wow 9th inning gave me goosebumps! Way to go, New York Mets.🧡💙⚾️ Great pitching and defense too.

  10. Alvarez would be a 2023 all-star starter if only he been brought up when he should have been brought up which was last June 2022 after the wheels fell off on their nightmare road trip West to Houston, SF, LA and SD when they played sub .500 ball. Kid would have had 300+ at bats and he would have exercised all the growing pains that he's experiencing now. It was also the time for Baty Mauricio and Vientos. Season could not have ended any worse if they had.

  11. If Alonso would concentrate on just placing the ball in play, he probably would do better. Nimmo has become a strike out legend at that number one spot. And I believe if you placed Lindor at the bottom of the lineup, it would take some pressure off and make him more productive.

  12. I could watch this on repeat all day. Hope they can keep this streak going for as long as they can.

  13. Alverez is a rookie. He needs to be humbled more often. That was a disgusting over the top display. Did the icinic yankee Derek Sanderson Jeter a/k /a the Captain ever do that? Gibson and Drysdale would have drilled that dumb rook in the back next AB with a 95 mph fastball then stared his sorry az down. The good old days.
