The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Washington Nationals 16-5 at PNC Park on April 13, 2026. Paul Skenes reached a major milestone on the mound, recording his 400th career strikeout and becoming the first Pirates pitcher in the modern era (since 1901) to reach 400 strikeouts in his first 59 starts. The Pirates offense powered the victory with a 16-hit performance, as Bryan Reynolds led the way with three hits and four RBIs. Spencer Horwitz added two hits, including a home run, while Oneil Cruz extended his hitting streak to 12 games. Brandon Lowe also contributed with three hits, including his third home run in the last two games, as Pittsburgh rolled to a dominant win at home.

The lumber company
The boys have been looking legit
Wow. A long time coming. Shades of The "Lumber Company". Lets Go Bucs.
I think in this game alone, we equal all of the run support we gave Skenes all of last season 😂
I love watching skeness pitching every 5 day
I know you have some avid fans in Pittsburgh. But what a pathetic fan base that won't come out to see their team
Woke up this morning after feeling sick all day yesterday. Thought I was hallucinating this morning when I saw the score.
Im so glad i work at pnc park 😌 The buccos are different this year i can feel it!!!
🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
This Pirates team can beat any MLB team that they face. Better than those 2013-15 wild card clubs
First 10 run inning at home for the Pirates since 2009. Last time they did it at home it was against Clint Hurdle’s Rockies team.
As the opposing team, if I seen the pitcher throwing a football 🏈, I'd be worried
I don't want to sound off but Horwitz got me with that cute stare…
Paul is the man again this year hi is a very good pichier
So when did they remove the unwritten rule that you don’t admire your home runs? You used to get yourself or the next player beaned for that.
I was at this Game last night it was Awesome 😉
Team is 10-7 and skenes is pitching. The stadium being that empty is a fcking travesty!!!
